Advocating to protect Canadian jobs including through the adoption of "Buy Canadian" and "Sell Here, Build Here" polices; worker-centered industrial strategies and the promotion of good union jobs. Proposal to amend the Foreign Extraterritorial Measures Act (FEMA) it improve its efficacy with respect to preventing corporations, operating in Canada, from offshoring jobs in response to foreign trade policies. United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities - with respect to the implementation of the treaty. Truth and Reconciliation Commission ("TRC") - with respect to the implementation of the TRC's 94 recommendations Trade Imbalance, including but not limited to Free Trade Agreements and Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection (FIPAs) - with respect to reciprocity in foreign trade The Telecommunications Act - with respect to foreign ownership. The Income Tax Act - with respect to income splitting, tax credits and corporate tax rates. Sector Councils - with respect to the establishment of multi-stakeholder sector councils regarding industrial policy and economic development issues. Road Transportation - with respect to regulation, labour standards and enforcement, fleet renewal programs, and industry impact assessments with respect to technological and environmental change Replacement workers in labour disputes - About legislation proposed to prohibit the use of replacement workers in labour disputes, including Bill C-58 in the current Parliament. Rail Transport - with respect to a national rail strategy, including railway health and safety standards, the funding of VIA Rail, and introducing a VIA Rail Act, and the privatization of the corridor route by way of the high speed frequency project. Public Transportation Investment - with respect to domestic public procurement and local hiring requirements and developing a national transit policy and establishment of a national public transit fund. Possible Legislation to be introduced dealing with amendments to the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, provisions regarding the treatment of unsecured claims for employee compensation, pension and severance claims and the status of collective agreements.
