Pour ce faire, lASL sollicite lengagement du gouvernement fédéral à : Soutenir et cofinancer la mise à jour de létude sur le TMCD, afin didentifier les obstacles actuels, les occasions à saisir et les recommandations concrètes à mettre en uvre ; Investir dans les infrastructures maritimes et les cadres politiques qui renforcent la résilience et la compétitivité du secteur du transport maritime de courte distance ; Reconnaître le transport maritime de courte distance comme un mode de transport stratégique et durable, contribuant aux objectifs économiques, environnementaux et logistiques du Canada ; ASL porte une attention particulière aux politiques et règlementations qui affectent le commerce international, spécifiquement entre le Canada et les États-Unis. Loi sur le Pilotage L'industrie cherche a modifier la loi afin que le comité national de pilotage permanent revoit le processus de tarification et assure une vigie des coûts et des dépenses pour des services plus efficaces et transparents.
