"Hydrogen Related Incentives" On behalf of the client, I will be advocating to various departments and agencies to promote hydrogen production and carbon capture and storage (CCS) in Alberta. In addition, I will be pursing various department and agencies to adopt hydrogen and CCS incentives.

Discussions regarding support for the development of clean hydrogen and net-zero technology, including through the Strategic Response Fund. Policies and regulations regarding zero emissions vehicles and the use of hydrogen in transportation applications, the supply of hydrogen and equipment for hydrogen fueling stations, including technology relating to compression, storage and dispensing. Engaging government regarding hydrogen and emissions reductions, including the proposed Clean Hydrogen Investment Tax Credit and the Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage Tax Credit. Generals discussions on the energy transition which may include energy priorities, long-term energy security, competitiveness, infrastructure investment (new projects and retrofits on existing projects/sub project) and technology development. Discussions will include hydrogen strategy and other low carbon fuels including regulatory and fiscal frameworks. Engagement with government to advance a policy and regulatory framework to enable successful closure & reclamation of oil sands mines. Engagement on COVID-19 relief programs, coordination of recovery efforts and regulatory matters, supply and distribution of COVID-19 rapid antigen screens and vaccine availability and distribution. Desired outcome: Suncor can safely continue to provide essential goods and services during the pandemic. Engagement and continued dialogue with government on the 2030 Emissions Reduction Plan. Discussion with the government on how they will support market access to allow Canadian energy products to get to market. Areas of discussion may include the regulatory approval process, communications with impacted communities, timelines and safety. Desired outcome: government understands the importance of market access and where we can work together to achieve access in a way that is safe and protects the environment. Discussion with the government on any proposed tax changes, specifically relating to the Income Tax Act and associated regulations. Discussions will include all forms of investment tax credit including Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) projects, hydrogen and dispute mechanisms. Discussion with the federal government on Bill C-15 and its commitment to fully implement the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, including what this means for regulatory consultation, timelines, and recognition of Suncor's support for Indigenous peoples in the communities we operate. Discussion with government on the Canada Growth Fund as it relates to eligibility requirements and ensuring a level playing field for all low carbon technology projects. Discussions with government on cyber-security and critical infrastructure including Bill C-26 Critical Cybersecurity Protection Act. Consultation on Federal/Provincial alignment of greenhouse gas policies, in light of federal government's commitment to implement a Canada-wide greenhouse gas strategy that allows for individual solutions for provinces.
