Policies, legislation and regulations relating to the availability, production and protection of domestic biofuels in Canada. Consultations and discussions with government officials regarding procurement policies for liquid transportation fuels, including the increased use of biofuels by the Government of Canada and federal Crown corporations. Consultations and discussions with government officials regarding federal funding programs and initiatives to promote the availability of domestically produced biofuels in Canada and internationally. All matters related to the Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR) as they relate to biofuels and to ensuring a level playing field between imported and domestically produced biofuels.

Matters relating to the regulation, licensing, and oversight of gaming and gambling activities in Canada, including federal–provincial jurisdictional frameworks. Matters relating to data privacy, consumer protection, and the collection, use, disclosure, and protection of personal and financial information as they apply to the gambling and gaming sector. This includes Bill C-36, An Act to enact the Protecting Privacy and Consumer Data Act, to amend the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and to make amendments to other Acts. Matters relating to gambling and gaming advertising, including marketing standards, consumer protection measures, player protection, and responsible advertising practices. This includes Bill S-211, An Act respecting a national framework on sports betting advertising, and Bill C-34, the Safe Social Media Act. Matters relating to Section 207 of the Criminal Code of Canada and related provisions governing the lawful authority and oversight of gambling activities in Canada, including casino gaming, sports betting, lotteries, charitable gaming, horse racing, and online gaming. This includes Bill S-241, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and the Indian Act. Matters relating to the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA) and associated regulations as they apply to the gambling and gaming sector, including anti–money laundering and counter–terrorist financing compliance measures. This includes Bill C-29, An Act to establish the Financial Crimes Agency and to make consequential amendments to certain Acts and regulations.

Policies and legislation related to the adoption, governance, and regulation of artificial intelligence, including algorithmic pricing practices. Policies and legislation related to federal consumer privacy protection and data governance, including the former Bill C-27, An Act to enact the Consumer Privacy Protection Act, the Personal Information and Data Protection Tribunal Act and the Artificial Intelligence and Data Act and to make consequential and related amendments to other Acts (Digital Charter Implementation Act, 2022). All matters related to Canada’s food supply chain, food pricing, and food labelling, including Bill C-226, An Act to develop a national framework for food price transparency (National Framework for Food Price Transparency Act). All matters related to independent and flexible work opportunities in Canada, including federal policies, programs, and legislation affecting gig economy workers.

Matters relating to federal skills training, workforce development, and apprenticeship programs relevant to housing, construction, and forestry-related sectors. This includes initiatives such as Team Canada Strong, as well as programs supporting skilled trades recruitment, certification, labour mobility, and workforce capacity development. Matters relating to federal housing policy, programs, and initiatives, including Build Canada Homes and related federal measures aimed at increasing housing supply. This includes engagement with government on policies and opportunities supporting housing construction and renovation. Policies and legislation affecting housing construction and renovation supply chains, and the availability of construction and renovation products, including hardware and related products. This includes policy and regulatory considerations related to product standards, particularly environmental and sustainability requirements, and right-to-repair principles as they relate to housing and construction materials. Matters relating to the federal Buy Canadian policy framework, including procurement policies affecting the use of Canadian-made wood and other construction and homebuilding and hardware products in federally supported projects. Matters relating to Canada’s forestry, wood, and timber sectors, including domestic production, processing, and distribution, as well as complementary building, hardware, and agricultural products. This includes federal policies affecting supply chains, international trade and market access, and the impacts of Canada’s free trade agreements on these industries, including tariffs and related measures.

The financial sector regulatory framework as it relates to data security, electronic payments, credit, debit and interchange rates. Organize meetings with the Department of Finance, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (Industry Canada), the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, as well as Parliamentarians.
