Provide grants for employment training opportunities or programs to assist in gaining skills prior to busy times in the ag industry. Rural Healthcare & Recruitment - funding for increase recruitment and retention of healthcare workers in remote rural areas of Saskatchewan Rural Crime; in regard to a provincial police force RCMP presence in rural Saskatchewan. RCMP – given the economic increase/market adjustments in the collective agreement, pay increases total more than 23 per cent over the six years, retroactive to 2017 & SARM is calling on the federal government to fully absorb all retroactive pay increases that the federal government negotiated RCMP costs - related costs coupled with rising policing costs overall could result in significant financial burdens for municipalities Railway/supply chain concerns especially around being able to move the crop from harvest to ports. To seek repeal or amendment of the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act to eliminate the Output-Based Pricing System (industrial carbon tax) as it applies to oil and gas facilities, reducing costs, enhancing competitiveness, and supporting energy sector development. To seek repeal or amendment of the Oil Tanker Moratorium Act to remove the prohibition on vessels carrying >12,500 metric tons of crude or persistent oil in bulk along British Columbia’s northern coast, enabling safe oil-tanker traffic for energy export and economic development while upholding marine safety standards. To bring awareness of drilling and service rig contractors operating in Canada and advocating for support of the industry including interprovincial trade cooperation and better workforce mobility. We are requesting for the ongoing extension of the China Surtax Remission Order imposed on the drill pipe from China. TECHNOLOGY AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: provide CMA’s perspective on the impact of technology and artificial intelligence on the health care sector including input on Bill C-27, and the means through which advancements can be foreseen and managed. PUBLIC-PRIVATE HEALTHCARE: The CMA is conducting a series of in-person sessions across the country to engage key stakeholders, including the public, physicians, patients/PWLE, policymakers, system leaders and others, in a dialogue on public-private healthcare. What we hear will inform CMA policy moving forward, and our recommendations for action at a national level. PHYSICIAN PARLIAMENTARIAN CAUCUS: advocate for the formation of a Physician Parliamentarian Caucus as a means of examining deficiencies in the health care system and proposing solutions. PAN CANADIAN LICENSURE: Advocate for the ability for physicians with full licences to practise independently without restrictions or for medical resident trainees registered in any Canadian jurisdiction to practise or train in any other Canadian jurisdiction without having to acquire more than one licence or pay additional licensing fees. This includes exploring enabling legislation in the provinces and territories. NET ZERO: Advocate for sustainable health systems in Canada, including reaching net-zero emissions by 2050; advocate for the establishment of a national climate and health secretariat within the federal government to develop a pan-Canadian approach to addressing the impacts of climate change and health; and advocate for a targeted health infrastructure fund as part of the federal government’s long-term plan for public infrastructure.
