Arranging meetings to educate the federal government public office holders about the organization and the importance of maintaining the WHOIS registry.

The American Registry for Internet Numbers is one of five regional internet registries in the world and is a self-regulated body charged with managing the distribution of internet number resources for Canada, the United States and the Caribbean. The client maintains a database which is known as the 'Who is responsible for this domain name (WHOIS)' database. We wish to inform Federal officials about the organization and the importance of maintaining this database. This may lead to proposals for legislative change in the longer term but none foreseen at this time.
