Engagement with the Government of Canada in support of tkMS’ participation in the Canadian Patrol Submarine Program.

To respond to any potential amendments to Canada’s Prepaid Payment Products Regulations, Canada's Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Regime and its Regulations, and to inform the development of regulations required to support the implementation of the Retail Payments Oversight Framework and the development of Canada’s Open Banking system. To advance policy and regulatory considerations related to Canada’s prepaid payment card market with respect to Financial Literacy, Consumer Protection, Open Banking and the Retail Payments Oversight Framework, and security and anti-money laundering, Legislation related to the prepaid payments industry in Canada, including the Canadian Payments Act, and upcoming legislation to enable the Retail Payments Oversight Framework and the development of Canada’s Open Banking system

Work with government to expand financial literacy programs for small businesses Working with the Canada Revenue Agency through the Income Tax Act to maintain operations between Intuit taxation software (QuickBooks) and government departments/agencies. Pursuing opportunities for partnership under the Strategic Innovation Fund and other programs to promote innovation to meet Canada's climate change commitments Export Reporting: Export Reporting requirements of Canadian Nuclear Safety Commissions, Canadian Border Services Agency and Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade with respect to the shipment of Nickel Powder Environmental Impact Asessment: Long Harbour Commercial Processing Plant in Newfoundland Eligibility criteria for activities related to mining under the federal clean technology manufacturing investment tax credit regime contained in the Budget Implementation Act, 2024. Canadian trade relations with respect to implementation of Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement (CETA) between Canada and the EU, CUSMA, Indo-Pacific strategy, Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) negotiations between Canada and Indonesia Canadian Environmental Protection Act: Regulatory Framework for regulating greenhouse gas emissions by Large Final Emitters; and air pollutants

Retail Payments Oversight Framework and the development of draft legislation. ETA is focused on an open and flexible system which has objective risk based rules. Canadian Payments Act and the ongoing consultations of the Payment System in Canada. The participation of new kinds of emerging payment technology companies and payment focused companies in the consultation process.

Discussions with officials regarding the Canada-US bilateral relationship. Bill C-27: An Act to enact the Consumer Privacy Protection Act, the Personal Information and Data Protection Tribunal Act and the Artificial Intelligence and Data Act and to make consequential and related amendments to other Acts, with respect to the AI provisions. Discussions with officials regarding Canada's participation and leadership at the G7 Summit and global leadership on artificial intelligence.

The financial sector regulatory framework as it relates to data security, electronic payments, credit, debit and interchange rates. Organize meetings with the Department of Finance, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (Industry Canada), the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, as well as Parliamentarians.

Encouraging future spectrum auctions to allow for greatest use of spectrum for rural broadband and other issues related specifically to rural broadband.

Representations to inform the government of opportunities for new aluminum production technologies that could be developed in Canada through the Strategic Innovation Fund. Meetings with the federal government on the various trade agreements (North American Free Trade Agreement, Canada-China bilateral trade)

To engage government officials regarding the maximum rate of interest in the Criminal Code and the provision of high-cost installment loans in Canada. To engage government in support of the publication of regulations accompanying the networking amendments to the Bank Act (s.411 et al.)

Discussions with government officials on policies with respect to mining industry operations, investment tax credits, innovation, corporate social responsibility, environmental sustainability and climate change, and to provide updates on Newmont Goldcorp mining operations and projects.
