Discussing with government review of the Canadian Transportation Act and impact on both domestic and international trade. Discussing with government the Rail Passenger Priority Act - this enactment amends the Canada Transportation Act to require that railway companies give priority to passenger rail service over the movement of freight and to provide for administrative monetary penalties for contraventions of this requirement. Discussing with government the Ports Modernization Review - increased accountability of Canadian Port Authorities is required, including introducing potential regulations to challenge excessive fees, charges, common use of the facilities, and protect users from unfair competition by the port against its tenants. Engaging government regarding support for clean hydrogen production and emissions reductions, including the proposed Clean Hydrogen Investment Tax Credit and the Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage Investment Tax Credit.

"Hydrogen Related Incentives" On behalf of the client, I will be advocating to various departments and agencies to promote hydrogen production and carbon capture and storage (CCS) in Alberta. In addition, I will be pursing various department and agencies to adopt hydrogen and CCS incentives.

Support for hydrogen research and development capabilities in Canada through the Strategic Innovation Fund I will be pursuing various department and agencies to adopt hydrogen and CCS incentives and financial supports including the Strategic Innovation Fund, Clean Hydrogen Investment Tax Credit, Contracts for Difference, and carbon credits under the Clean Fuel Regulations. On behalf of the client, I will be advocating to various departments and agencies with respect to legislation and regulations that impact the development of clean hydrogen production and carbon capture and storage (CCS) with a focus on Bill C-59 (e.g. CCUS-ITC), Clean Hydrogen Investment Tax Credit and the Clean Fuel Regulations.

Discussions regarding support for the development of clean hydrogen and net-zero technology, including through the Strategic Response Fund. To seek repeal or amendment of the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act to eliminate the Output-Based Pricing System (industrial carbon tax) as it applies to oil and gas facilities, reducing costs, enhancing competitiveness, and supporting energy sector development. To seek repeal or amendment of the Oil Tanker Moratorium Act to remove the prohibition on vessels carrying >12,500 metric tons of crude or persistent oil in bulk along British Columbia’s northern coast, enabling safe oil-tanker traffic for energy export and economic development while upholding marine safety standards. To bring awareness of drilling and service rig contractors operating in Canada and advocating for support of the industry including interprovincial trade cooperation and better workforce mobility. We are requesting for the ongoing extension of the China Surtax Remission Order imposed on the drill pipe from China.
