Raising awareness and profile of Canada’s biogas & renewable natural gas sector, including benefits and opportunities in agriculture, road and marine transportation, buildings, and industry. Engagement regarding policies and regulations related to energy, waste management, energy infrastructure, and use of biogas & renewable natural gas. Engagement regarding policies, programs, and tax incentives to support investments in the development of the Canadian biogas & renewable natural gas industry. Discussions regarding the design, amendment, and implementation of the Clean Fuel Regulations, with a focus on pathways for gaseous fuel participation.

Encourage the federal government to implement measures to promote interprovincial trade and the harmonization of regulations regarding maritime transportation between the provinces. Work with the federal government to promote stable trade relations and regulatory harmonization between Canada and the United States on the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence, including on the classification of vessels, ballast water regulations, and other measures impacting short-sea shipping over shared waters. Work with Transport Canada, Employment and Social Development Canada, and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to ensure seafarer skill development and credential recognition programs effectively support the Canadian marine shipping industry address critical labour market needs. Work with Transport Canada, Environment and Climate Change Canada and Finance Canada to ensure effective application of the Net Zero Accelerator measures as defined in Budget 2021 in section 5.1, in particular aiming at the creation of a decarbonization system Canada's own marine industry that relies on the use of renewable fuels, including biodiesel. Work with the Canada Revenue Agency and other responsible departments to define and apply the provisions of the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act (SC 2018, c. 12, s. 186) to maritime sector, and to recognize the distinct character of maritime transport in the application of the law. Working with Transport Canada and Global Affairs Canada to ensure that regulations around water treatments affecting operations of the Canadian fleets, who are sharing trade routes with USA fleets, are harmonized with the USA regulatory body to maintain Canada's competitive on the market. Obtain authorizations, under the Canada Shipping Act, 2001, to develop, test and apply new technologies aimed at reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the maritime transport sector.

Discuss issues pertaining to sustainable aviation fuels, including government support for the production of these fuels and the usage of sustainable aviation fuel by industry and government Explain the environmental benefits of using sustainable aviation fuels. Raise awareness and profile of the Canadian Council for Sustainable Aviation Fuels among public office holders.
