K'awat'si Economic Development

Working with client to address housing and infrastructure concerns in their home community -- seeking relevant and appopriate financial assistance from federal government. Seeking financial assistance (from sources to be determined) for securing forestry licenses in the First Nation's traditional territories. Working in support of the Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw Nation (GNN) in helping them reach their Reconciliation and Treaty goals. Salmon Aquaculture: supporting KEDC in convincing DFO and the Government of Canada at large to allow Indigenous people to continue responsibly farming salmon on the Pacific coast

Working with the Gwa'sala-'Nakwaxdaxw to seek support from the Government of Canada for the acquisition of timber leases in their traditional territory and associated infrastructure. Working with the Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw to address and gain access to funding for housing and infrastructure concerns in their home community through Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada, as well as other related government entities. Working in support of the Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw Nation (GNN) in helping them reach their Reconciliation and Treaty goals.
