Specifically in regard to Bill C-5, One Canadian Economy, and potential funding opportunities related to infrastructure, such as Green and Inclusive Community Buildings and First Nation Infrastructure Fund. In particular, aiming to secure commitments and action plans on key priorities, including Treaty Land Entitlement and Annuity Settlements, improved public safety and emergency management, with a focus on wildfire response.

Supporting the First Nation in federal engagement to improve policing and public safety services in its communities, including Fort Chipewyan. Discussions focus on modernizing local policing and strengthening emergency preparedness capacity. Objectives include enhancing policing, reducing emergency response times, and ensuring sustainable, long-term federal support for public safety infrastructure and operations. Supporting the First Nation in their engagement with the Government of Canada relating to C-53, an Act respecting the recognition of certain Métis governments in Alberta, Ontario and Saskatchewan, to give effect to treaties with those governments and to make consequential amendments to other Acts. Working with the government relating to the effects on the First Nation regarding the environment and natural resources. Supporting the First Nation in their engagement with the Government of Canada relating to C-29 An Act to provide for the establishment of a national council for reconciliation.
