Nunavut Wildlife Management Board

The NWMB is looking to engage MPs with the objective of increasing awareness of their work and priorities including wildlife management (allowable harvest levels, quotas and the designation of endangered, threatened and rare species) and matters of governance for which the board is responsible under Nunavut Agreement. The NWMB is looking to reclassify board positions to better reflect the Board's evolving scope of work and accountabilities and to achieve fairness with comparable board classification under PCO remuneration guidelines.

USCBP AND AGENCY STAFFING: Calgary Airports recommends the Government of Canada address resourcing challenges facing the United States Customs and Border Protection (USCBP) and other government agencies to ensure a seamless passenger experience and reduce the delays passengers and airlines can face as a result. TRANSPORTATION & AVIATION REGULATORY REFORMS: Calgary Airports recommends that the Government of Canada undertake a regulatory review of the entire aviation ecosystem with the goal of modernizing the sector and making it more globally competitive. This would consider costs to the system, competitiveness, and affordability in air travel. AIRPORT LEASE MODEL REFORMS - The Calgary Airport Authority recommends that the Government of Canada exclude non-aeronautical revenue from the ground lease rent formula to allow for Canadian airports to invest these retained funds into maintenance, infrastructure, and debt repayment. ARRIVALS DUTY-FREE - The Calgary Airport Authority recommends that the Government of Canada modernize the ‘Duty Free Shop Regulations’ to allow for the sale of Duty-Free products to all international arriving passengers at Canadian international airports. INTERNATIONAL WASTE DIRECTIVE REFORM: The Calgary Airport Authority recommends the Government of Canada modernize the Health of Animals Regulations and International Waste Directive to allow for regulatory changes addressing waste on arriving international flights. INTERNATIONAL WASTE DIRECTIVE REFORM: The Calgary Airport Authority recommends the Government of Canada modernize the Health of Animals Act to allow for regulatory changes addressing waste on arriving international flights. CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE - The Calgary Airport Authority recommends that the Government of Canada increase funding to the Airport Critical Infrastructure Program (ACIP) and broaden its scope to support climate resilience infrastructure and energy efficiency upgrades. AIRPORT LEASE MODEL REFORMS - The Calgary Airport Authority recommends that the Government of Canada conduct a review of the ground lease payment model, in consultation with National Airports System (NAS) airports, that focuses on economic development and infrastructure maintenance.
