Infrastructure and Housing Investments Description: To advocate for investments in infrastructure and housing, including federal programs that support the development of water and wastewater systems, community facilities, affordable housing, and capital planning that meets the needs of Mamaweswen member First Nations. Administrative and Fiscal Arrangements Description: To work out administrative and fiscal arrangements with the federal government that support Mamaweswen Tribal Councils exercise of jurisdiction and self-determination, including discussions related to self-government agreements, direct funding arrangements, and governance capacity. Health Transformation and Community Wellness Description: To seek support for the development and implementation of health and wellness programs, including federal investments in Indigenous health transformation, culturally grounded mental health services, addictions treatment, and chronic disease prevention tailored to Mamaweswen communities. Climate Resilience and Clean Energy Description: To secure federal support for clean energy initiatives, climate adaptation projects, and environmental protection efforts led by Mamaweswen. Education, Skills, and Training Description: To engage federal departments on funding and policy supports for culturally relevant education, post-secondary access, early learning and childcare, and skills training programs that prepare members for participation in a changing labour market. Food Security and Community Wellbeing Description: To seek funding for initiatives that promote local food production, food sovereignty, and traditional food systems to improve nutrition and wellness outcomes for Mamaweswen members. Child and Family Services Reform Description: To secure federal resources to support the full implementation of An Act respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, youth and families, including funding for the co-development of Mamaweswens child and family services law, prevention-based models, and wraparound supports. Economic Development and Employment Supports Description: To pursue federal programs and partnerships that support economic development initiatives, Indigenous entrepreneurship, workforce training, and employment supports, with the aim of addressing systemic socio-economic barriers faced by Mamaweswen member communities.
