Dechinta Centre for Research and Learning offers postsecondary education programming in the Northwest Territories. Budget 2024 made a commitment to provide over two years, starting in 2024. Lobbying activities will seek to secure stable and sustainable sources of funding for years beyond the current commitment. As a leader in Indigenous and Northern education, Dechinta will also be working with Northern Affairs on strategies and policies related to education in the territories. Recommendations and input will be provided to the Minister and to department officials through planned engagement processes and through written submissions. Dechinta will seek to keep updated members of parliament and senators that have supported them.

Blue Branch is seeking funding opportunities for utilizing labour mobility to strengthen workforce development in critical mineral projects. Engaging federal departments to seek further information and funding opportunities to continue moving Internationally Educated Health Care Professionals into rural and remote communities through a labour mobility approach. Blue Branch is looking to help tackle the labour crisis by connecting skilled workers with employers using “supercommuting,” a model that encourages workers to travel for work for stints of time while not forcing them to uproot their lives. In an effort to increase the uptake of labour mobility and facilitate the movement of workers, Blue Branch is seeking to work with government to address barriers such as housing, skilled trade shortages, and construction.

The NWMB is looking to engage MPs with the objective of increasing awareness of their work and priorities including wildlife management (allowable harvest levels, quotas and the designation of endangered, threatened and rare species) and matters of governance for which the board is responsible under Nunavut Agreement. The NWMB is looking to reclassify board positions to better reflect the Board's evolving scope of work and accountabilities and to achieve fairness with comparable board classification under PCO remuneration guidelines.
