International Development we are seeking funding for additional programs that we could deliver internationally similar to the program funded by Global Affairs; also looking for grants which would assist performance auditors and oversight bodies in countries who cannot afford to attend our training courses and workshops Budget - requesting that the CAAF be considered in the budget process; seeking existing programs that could fund the CAAF; seeking details from Finance and Treasury Board Secretariat

Seek increased funding for type 1 diabetes research Discussions and information sharing on improving regulatory pathways for cell and gene therapy Discussions and information sharing around: Procurement and tariffs impact Insulin production Stock piles To seek funding to expand the foundation's educational program to raise awarenes of type 1 diabetes and diabetes management in Canada. Ensuring Bill C-64, the National Pharmacare Act, meets the needs of Canadians living with type 1 diabetes by having adequate insulin and diabetes devices coverage, while respecting patient choice. Seek an increase funding for the Canadian Clinical Trial Network to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Ongoing conversation with Health Minister's Office regarding JDRF-CIHR Partnership to Defeat Diabetes renewal funding. Agricultural trade: multi and bi-lateral trade negotiations to maintain and expand opportunities for canola farmers through reduction in tariffs and non-tariff trade barriers. Provide farmers necessary support through trade disruptions. Support the modernization of the World Trade Organization (WTO) as a mechanism to promote rules-based trade. Support additional government resources to help solve technical trade barriers. Inter-provincial regulations support canola production, market access, and growth. Agriculture Policy Framework: ensure that business risk management programs and strategic initiatives are suitable for canola farmers. Federal research programming and initiatives support production needs on farm. Support right to repair and interoperability programs, policies, laws, and regulations that support farmer's choice and right to repair. Canada Transportation Act and regulations as it relates to the transportation of grain. Support development of transportation and trade infrastructure that facilities market demand and growth for canola. Ensure governments recognize the benefits that farmers provide to the environment, including in relation to offset protocols, ecological goods and services, and rebates. Environment and international trade: to advance the good management practices that are implemented on canola farms that contribute to environmental stewardship and competitive markets for farmers and to advance the canola biodiesel market domestically and abroad. Canada's Clean Fuel Regulations incentivizes the use of canola-based biofuels. Transportation: to advocate for a fair and efficient railway transportation system that serves the needs of grain producers. The creation and implementation of the Canada Water Agency and adoption of a pan-Canadian water monitoring framework have positive impacts for canola farmers. Support enhanced resources for federal regulatory bodies to make science-based decisions on crop protection products and seed varieties. Seeds Act and regulations as it pertains to seed variety registrations. Plant Breeders Rights Act and regulations as it relates to intellectual property rights. Patent Act and regulations as it pertains to intellectual property rights specific to seed technologies. Income Tax Act and other financial regulations, policies or programs: To promote the fair treatment of farmers in any proposed changes to the Income Tax Act or other financial mechanism that may impact farmers financially. Fisheries Act regulations and polices as it relates to fish habitats on farmland. Ensure Government recognizes and works with the agriculture sector to ensure farmers have access to skilled, competitive on-farm labour. Discussions concerning railway and port strikes as it relates to economic development and trade labour disruptions. Canadian Food Inspection Act and regulations as it relates to canola production and trade. Canadian Environmental Protection Act and Pest Control Products Act and regulations as it relates to agricultural pest control products. Raise awareness of the burden of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions and the need for more strategic approach to management of MSK health for federal populations including Canadian Forces, Veterans, RCMP and First Nations and Inuit. Inclusion of chiropractors as recognized qualified practitioners to issue the Disability Tax Credit Certificate(T2201). Improve chiropractic coverage for federal public service employees. Improve access to chiropractic care for Indigenous peoples, particularly by adding coverage for chiropractic services under the Non-Insured Health Benefits Program. Implement the Canadian Pain Task Force's Action Plan for Pain in Canada and enhance the current approach to pain management by improving the integration of non-pharmacological treatments, such as chiropractic care. Expand the Canada Student Loan Forgiveness Program to include front-line allied health care professionals, such as Doctors of Chiropractic. Ensure that the Canadian Armed Forces paid education programs in health care include chiropractic. Ensure that chiropractors are included in the government's plan to introduce a one-time income tax deduction for health care professionals starting their careers in rural communities. -Allow refugees and refugee claimants to access chiropractic care under the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP).

Discussion relating to Canada's COVID-19 economic response plan. The Income Tax Act and Excise Tax Act as they relate to the taxation of credit unions, cooperatives and small business. Winding-up Restructuring Act and applicability to credit unions and credit union centrals. The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act with respect to impact on credit unions and credit union centrals. The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Common Reporting Standards and potential impacts on credit unions. The Canada Anti-Spam Law as it relates to contraventions under the Act and general impact on credit union operations. Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act with respect to reporting and compliance obligations of credit unions and credit union centrals. Participated in the Department of Finance consultation on the development of a financial consumer code. Continue to monitor its development. Monitor the financial powers and operations of the Business Development Bank of Canada as being considered during the current statutory Parliamentary Review of the Business Development Bank of Canada. Monitoring housing finance policy as it relates to data collection by the Government, Regulatory Burden and how policy will affect consumers. Issues that impact the competitiveness of credit unions including: Accessibility to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation’s (CMHC) default management tools, federal credit union legislation; CMHC's mortgage insurance policies; and anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing legislation; social finance and social innovation; financial literacy International Monetary Fund (IMF) - Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP) and Article 4 consultations. Income Tax Act - any provision applicable to credit unions including but not limited to (Part XVIII and Part XIX) pertaining respectively to the automatic exchange of financial account information with the United States under the intergovernmental agreement to facilitate compliance with the "The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and the automatic exchange of financial account information with jurisdictions other than the US in accordance with the Common Reporting Standard. Financial Action Task Force (FATF) - mutual evaluations of Canada Engaging with all Government stakeholders that are investigating the implementation of an open-banking framework in Canada and how that will affect credit unions and their members. Discussion relating to a national strategy on financial literacy, with respect to the work of the credit unions on financial literacy. Co-operative Credit Associations Act scheduled review of federal financial institutions legislative review due in 2023.
