C’est un objectif qui est important pour nos communautés. Deux volets ne sont pas ouverts à tous et visent les principaux corridors commerciaux du pays. Nous souhaitons nous assurer que le partage de l’enveloppe budgétaire globale favorise l’ensemble des régions du Québec et que le Québec obtienne sa juste part des investissements prévus. Immigration et main-d'oeuvre : Représentations sur l’importance stratégique du Programme des travailleurs étrangers temporaires (PTET) pour soutenir la vitalité économique de toutes les régions du Québec et répondre aux besoins de main-d’œuvre dans plusieurs secteurs clés, qui portent sur l'adaptation des modalités du programme aux réalités québécoises et le maintien en poste des TET présents au Québec, et la nécessité d'une entente avec le gouvernement du Québec pour la mise en oeuvre d'une clause de droits acquis pour les personnes affectées par la fin du Programme de l'expérience québécoise. Représentations sur le financement des programmes d'emplois jeunesse dans les municipalités Les municipalités souhaitent le maintien et le renouvellement du Fonds pour bâtir des communautés sécuritaires (FBCS) qui soutient la réalisation d’actions visant à améliorer la sécurité urbaine. De plus, nous demandons au gouvernement du Canada et au gouvernement du Québec de s’entendre, dans les plus brefs délais, sur les modalités d’utilisation des sommes dédiées aux campements, en concertation avec le milieu municipal et les organismes communautaires. Les substances perfluoroalkyliques et polyfluoroalkyliques (PFAS) sont des polluants éternels qui se retrouvent dans l'eau potable et les eaux usées des municipalités. L'UMQ souhaite s'assurer que des actions soient mises en place afin de minimiser les impacts sur le milieu municipal (par ex. :coûts de traitement et pérennité des sources d'eau potable) Navigation de plaisance : Les enjeux liés à la navigation de plaisance et à l’accès aux plans d’eau au Québec sont préoccupants pour nos municipalités. Les municipalités souhaiteraient pouvoir bénéficier d’une certaine marge de manœuvre pour réglementer la navigation de plaisance sur leurs plans d’eau pour s’assurer de la qualité de vie de leurs citoyens. Transport collectif : Nous souhaitons que l'annonce du gouvernement fédéral concernant le Fonds canadien pour le transport en commun porte ses fruits et favorise le développement du transport en commun dans nos communautés. Nous souhaitons également que le versement des montants soit devancé afin de soutenir plus rapidement nos initiatives, car le financement du transport collectif doit être une priorité nationale.
