Charitable Sector Reform writ large. Includes engaging with government on necessary reform to enable the sector to flourish. Seeking non-monetary support from the Public Service in regards to the employee charitable giving campaign. Funding for community services and programs for children, youth, seniors, low income individuals, people seeking employment, newcomers, women and other community members. Budget with respect to: -investment in community services infrastructure -the community services labour force -housing and homelessness -mental health and other services -enabling measures for the work of charitable and nonprofit sector.

Policies or Program • Connect with government officials to discuss opportunities to support Canada's health care system and to improve seniors care in Canada. Grant, Contribution or Other Financial Benefit • To advocate for future budgetary funding for the Canadian Association for Long Term Care, including funding for health human resources and long-term care infrastructure support, as well as funding and other supports for COVID-19 related challenges.

Discuss increasing incidents of violence against health care workers, prevention, and enforcement of existing laws. Support nursing students through targeted financial support such as paid preceptorships and federal grants. Support internationally educated nurses through establishing a collaborative, multi-stakeholder body hosted by Health Canada, to lead national strategy, planning and coordination for internationally educated nurses' registration, integration and support. Targeted funding of $1 billion as an initial investment to immediately begin to address the current health care workforce crisis experienced by provinces/territories across Canada, with funding focused on short and long-term goals. To achieve patient-centred quality care based on the WHO’s comprehensive health labour markets framework that would be acceptable to, and delivered by, the provinces/territories. Provide sustainable funding so nurses and other healthcare workers have access to mental health supports. In keeping with the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, establish specific targets and timelines for the admission and graduation of First Nations, Métis and Inuit health professionals in all postsecondary institutions and provide funding dedicated to indigenous nurse students. Implementing a Universal single-payer pharmacare program. Fund innovative retention and recruitment programs targeted at early-career, mid-career and late-career nurses. Establish a dedicated coordinating body to address critical health workforce data gaps based on global best practices on health workforce management. Address health workforce shortages through the implementation of a comprehensive, pan-Canadian health human resources strategy, in coordination with the provinces and territories, backed by sufficient funding and with real accountability for achieving desired health outcomes; and address critical data gaps through significantly enhancing existing health workforce data infrastructure to standardize data collection and analysis across workers, sectors and jurisdictions, with links to relevant patient information, healthcare utilization and outcome data, for more fit-for-purpose planning and tools available at the provincial, territorial, regional and training program level. In designing this, Canada should draw on global best practices in health workforce planning including in Australia and New Zealand.

Advocating for increased and sustainable funding of the sexual violence sector. Advocating for policies, proposals, reforms, and legislation that contribute to a robust nationwide survivor-centred and trauma-informed sexual violence prevention and response sector. This includes reforms related to artificial intelligence (deepfakes), victims’ rights to information, testimonial aids, therapy records, sexual history evidence, coercive and controlling behaviour, femicide provisions, forced sterilization, non-disclosure agreements, and investment in the sexual violence sector. Specific bills discussed are Bill C-16 (Protecting Victims Act), Bill S-228 (An Act to amend the Criminal Code (sterilization procedures)) which would amend the Criminal Code, and Bill S-232 (An Act respecting non-disclosure agreements / Can’t Buy Silence Act).

Advocacy related to tackling inequality in Canada and globally, including taxation to address extreme wealth inequality. Advocacy related to Canada’s national Early Learning and Child Care system. Canada’s policies and programs on humanitarian assistance and crisis response, emphasizing the need for feminist, locally led, and principled humanitarian action. This includes urging Canada to uphold international humanitarian law, ensure unimpeded humanitarian access, and provide equitable, flexible, and multi-year funding for humanitarian response in conflict and climate-affected contexts Advocacy on Canada’s international policies and programs related to immigration, refugees, and humanitarian response, ensuring gender-responsive approaches that uphold human rights and protection for displaced women, girls, and marginalized communities. Obtain contributions from Global Affairs Canada programs with respect to Oxfam international development projects and the delivery of humanitarian assistance. Obtain contributions from GAC, ESDC, IDRC, IAAC and WAGE to fight poverty and promote women's rights and gender equality. Federal legislation on corporate due diligence for human rights and the environment. Federal budget regarding international development assistance and provision of funding for gender equality initiatives. Canada’s policies and programs on sexual and reproductive health and rights. Canada’s laws, policies and programs in relationship with First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples, especially women, girls, trans and Two-spirit people. Canada's policies on climate change, with regard to gender-responsive mitigation and adaptation commitments, and funding for adaptation, mitigation and loss and damage in low- and middle-income countries.
