Advocating for increased and sustainable funding of the sexual violence sector. Advocating for policies, proposals, reforms, and legislation that contribute to a robust nationwide survivor-centred and trauma-informed sexual violence prevention and response sector. This includes reforms related to artificial intelligence (deepfakes), victims rights to information, testimonial aids, therapy records, sexual history evidence, coercive and controlling behaviour, femicide provisions, forced sterilization, non-disclosure agreements, and investment in the sexual violence sector. Specific bills discussed are Bill C-16 (Protecting Victims Act), Bill S-228 (An Act to amend the Criminal Code (sterilization procedures)) which would amend the Criminal Code, and Bill S-232 (An Act respecting non-disclosure agreements / Cant Buy Silence Act).
