L’objectif des démarches est de mettre en place des politiques qui favorisent les possibilités de déploiement de carburants d’aviation durables au Québec (par exemple, par le financement d'études de faisabilité de production du carburant durable) et d’assurer une complémentarité avec les normes internationales qui sont appelées à exister. Le conseil souhaite que les normes nationales soient complémentaires aux critères internationaux en termes de faible intensité carbone pour les carburants d'aviation. Ces critères nationaux sont à être déterminés.
