Canadian Women & Sport is seeking policy and funding support for gender equity in sport across government departments. Canadian Women & Sport is advocating for the integration of gender equity considerations or standards into the funding framework(s) for funding envelopes controlled by Sport Canada. Canadian Women & Sport, on behalf of all National Sport Organizations, Multi-Sport Service Organizations and Canadian Sport Institutes, are seeking the continuation of targeted gender equity in sport funding to support the achievement of the federal government's stated goal of gender equality at all levels of sport by 2035.

The Canadian Olympic Committee is advocating to strengthen and modernize the national sport system in support of Canadian athletes and to the benefit of communities across the country through more safe, positive, and accessible sporting programs and environments.

Ensure that chiropractors are included in the government's plan to introduce a one-time income tax deduction for health care professionals starting their careers in rural communities. Allow refugees and refugee claimants to access chiropractic care under the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP).

Educating government on the importance of chiropractic care to provide better access to healthcare - chiropractors are Canada's largest community of regulated MSK experts, offering timely, evidence based, conservative care. MSK conditions are a leading cause of disabilityand healthcare costs, federal action is essential - chiropractic care supports workplace productivity - we want chiropractors to practice to their full scope and improve equitable access for all patients. Improve Access for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Members - remove physician referral requirements and treatment caps to ensure timely, evidence based care. Authorize Chiropractors as Assessors for the Disability Tax Credit - allow chiropractors to certify patients for the Federal Disability Tax Credit (DTC) reducing delays and increasing access. Reinstate Chiropractic Care under NIHB - restore coverage under the Non-Insured Health Benefits program for Indigenous Peoples Expand Student Loan Forgiveness - include chiropractors in the Student Loan Forgiveness program to improve healthcare access in rural and underserviced communities Expanding and including chiropractic care under existing policies and programs such as non-insured health benefits program, Canadian Armed Forces, Interim Federal Health Program, and Disability tax credit.

RESEARCH HOSPITALS: Advocate for direct support and stability for Canada's academic health science centres and research hospitals that will further enable them to fulfill their strategically critical contribution to Canada's health and economic security. INDUSTRY: Advocate for policies that enhance the health and biosciences sector’s capacity to do business in Canada and to invest in Canadian health research and commercialization. INDIRECT COSTS OF RESEARCH: Advocate for an increase to the minimum threshold for reimbursement of indirect research costs for all institutions via the Research Support Fund. INDIGENOUS RESEARCH: Advocate for greater investments in Indigenous health research through the three granting councils and the Canada Research Coordinating Committee. HEALTH RESEARCH: Focus on increasing public investments across the research spectrum of operating grants, people and infrastructure and encourages investments from private and private-not-for-profit sectors. GOVERNMENT FUNDING: Advocate for increased health research funding through the three granting councils (Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, and Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada) and the Canada Research Coordinating Committee. FEDERAL BUDGET CONSULTATION: Advocate for continued support of Canadian health research and health innovation through investments and commitments made in the federal budget, such as the Strategic Science Fund, the Canada Graduate Scholarship Program, etc. DIVERSE TALENT BASE: Advocate for better support for a diversified talent base in Canada, with a focus on Indigenous researchers, Black and people of colour researchers, early-career researchers, and other underrepresented and equity-deserving groups. DIGITAL HEALTH SYSTEM: Advocate for investment in the digitalization of our health system so that high-quality data and digital technologies support healthcare decisions, empower patients as partners, and drive research and innovation.
