Corrections and Conditional Release Act, S.C. 1992, c.20 Our interest is in ensuring that this legislation facilitates access to prevention information tools and services on the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), hepatitis C virus (HCV) and facilitates access to adequate care, treatment and support for prisoners with HIV or HCV. Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, S.C. 1996, c. 19 Our interest is in ensuring that this law and its application in practice, does not impede access to prevention information, tools and services (eg. needle distribution programs, supervised consumption services, Opioid Agonist Treatment) on the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), hepatitis C virus (HCV) and other health services for people who use drugs. Case for increasing funding to the Federal Initiative to Address HIV/AIDS in Canada, and community concerns about the roll-out of the Community Action Fund under said Federal Initiative.

Working with senior policy advisors at Agriculture Canada and Transport Canada on changes to regulations impacting farm animals Consultations with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, with regards to the importation of dogs and puppy mills Consultations with Public Safety Canada on Animals in Emergency Management Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA) with regards to Part 5 (Controlling Toxic Substances) and development, validation and adoption of non-animal methods

Ongoing government engagement activities related to any future legislative changes impacting long-term care and seniors’ housing, including national standards, affordable, and supportive housing.

To advocate for future budgetary funding for the Canadian Association for Long Term Care, including funding for health human resources and long-term care infrastructure support, as well as funding and other supports for COVID-19 related challenges. Connect the Canadian Association for Long Term Care with government officials to discuss opportunities to support Canada's health care system and to improve seniors care in Canada.

CDI is seeking Federal funding to underwrite the costs of providing training, technical assistance, and support services needed to grow and sustain the network of organizations across Canada that deliver the Stop Now and Plan Program (SNAP®). In addition, CDI is seeking funding to monitor and report program outcomes at the site and network levels. CDI is offering consulting and technical assistance services to support the Federal government in successfully scaling programs using evidence-based implementation strategies.

This change in policy will reduce access to credit for millions of Canadians. These Canadians make up 29% of all Canadians with credit reports and are non-prime borrowers, meaning that they would struggle to access loans from traditional financial institutions. The Canadian Lenders Association would like the government to understand how this amendment will negatively impact CLA members and the public at large.

Requesting that the government fund efforts to replace the use of animals in science, including the Canadian Centre for Alternatives to Animal Methods. Farmed animal suffering in animal agriculture, including the lack of federal regulation of on-farm animal welfare; and enforcement of existing animal transport and slaughter laws.
