Support the meaningful participation of Inuit and Inuit Development Corporations in emerging and existing programs related to Arctic and Northern defence and security, including NORAD Modernization and Continental and Arctic Defence, including special purpose, dual-use and community infrastructure. Advocacy for opportunities for funding to support Inuit participation in business development opportunities that support Arctic and Northern security and defence and dual-use infrastructure Advocacy for new or improved federal policies and programs related to Arctic and Northern security and defence infrastructure and dual-use infrastructure, that support business development of Inuit Development Corporations, including with respect to revision of Federal Government Procurement policies for Indigenous businesses

Advancing discussions on programs and contracts tied to the development and support of future combat vessels. Funding to prepare the facility for construction of the future River Class Destroyer fleet and to support the ongoing maintenance of vessels. Interactions with Government officials regarding in-service support for Halifax Class Frigates. Input into the Federal Government's National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy as it relates to Irving Shipbuilding being selected on October 19, 2011 to build the Combat Vessel work package.

Discussions regarding the status of the government's overall international trade plan, including the Canada-United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement and Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement, and the approach to Intellectual Property. Buy Canadian Policy. Discussions regarding prioritizing Canadian manufacturing in procurement proposals. Canada's northern economic development policy. Discussions of the status, development and government’s position in regards to new policies in the North.

Support the meaningful participation of Inuit and Inuit Development Corporations in emerging and existing programs related to Arctic and Northern defence and security, including NORAD Modernization and Continental and Arctic Defence, including special purpose, dual-use and community infrastructure. Make Government aware of Inuit-owned corporations capabilities and interests related to NORAD Modernization program and related, yet to be defined, future procurements. Discuss with Government the Inuit benefit policies that may or will be applied to those procurements, including the Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) policy, the 5% target in Indigenous procurement policy, and the Nunavut Agreement.
