Communicating with government officials, in general, about the tourism sector, including the development of the tourism sector through trade and economic development initiatives. Communicating with government officials about proposed amendments to the Canadian Income Tax Act, and Canada Revenue Agency (“CRA”) administrative policies thereunder, more specifically those related to social events and hospitality functions. Communicating with government officials about tourism-related policies and programs, including the “Federal Tourism Growth Strategy” (Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development) and “Tourism 2030: A World of Opportunity” (Destination Canada). Communicating with government officials about potential government funding for infrastructure developments and improvements to convention centres, including the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
