Encourage the introduction of new legislation to ensure sustainable First Nation water and wastewater systems, with minimum standards of water quality and minimum capacity standards for the delivery of water. Increase the grants portion of Canada’s bilateral climate finance and ensure that only grants are used to address adaptation and loss and damage. Conduct a review of all bilateral debts held by Canada to identify those that have become unsustainable and to be canceled without conditions. Play a leadership role in multilateral forums, like the G7, G20, IMF and World Bank for the creation of a UN Framework Convention on Sovereign Debt.
