Supporting the First Nation in federal engagement to improve policing and public safety services in its communities, including Fort Chipewyan. Discussions focus on modernizing local policing and strengthening emergency preparedness capacity. Objectives include enhancing policing, reducing emergency response times, and ensuring sustainable, long-term federal support for public safety infrastructure and operations. Canada’s policies and programs on humanitarian assistance and crisis response, emphasizing the need for feminist, locally led, and principled humanitarian action. This includes urging Canada to uphold international humanitarian law, ensure unimpeded humanitarian access, and provide equitable, flexible, and multi-year funding for humanitarian response in conflict and climate-affected contexts Advocacy on Canada’s international policies and programs related to immigration, refugees, and humanitarian response, ensuring gender-responsive approaches that uphold human rights and protection for displaced women, girls, and marginalized communities. Obtain contributions from Global Affairs Canada programs with respect to Oxfam international development projects and the delivery of humanitarian assistance. Obtain contributions from GAC, ESDC, IDRC, IAAC and WAGE to fight poverty and promote women's rights and gender equality. Federal legislation on corporate due diligence for human rights and the environment. Federal budget regarding international development assistance and provision of funding for gender equality initiatives. Canada’s policies and programs on sexual and reproductive health and rights. Canada’s laws, policies and programs in relationship with First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples, especially women, girls, trans and Two-spirit people. Canada's policies on climate change, with regard to gender-responsive mitigation and adaptation commitments, and funding for adaptation, mitigation and loss and damage in low- and middle-income countries.

Increases to the International Assistance Envelope Allocations of the International Assistance Envelope Advocating spending priorities related to the dissemination of Canada's Official Development Assistance envelope to ensure that aid is targetted at initiatives that serve the world's poorest. Advocating for increased investment toward tuberculosis elimination, specifically through the creation of a national tuberculosis elimination strategy.

Increasing funding for literacy. Stabilizing current sources of Federal government funding for United for Literacy. Increasing awareness of the issue of literacy. Increasing the profile of United for Literacy. Federal funding is used to design, deliver and evaluate literacy and essential skills programs that promote success within formal education, training, and employment systems in Canada. Activities include sharing information about literacy challenges in Canada; educating and raising awareness among public servants and elected officials; sharing results of program evaluation (impact, best practices, lessons learned, implications for the sector, needs of the Literacy & Essential Skills sector); advocating for policy changes and program investments.

Communications regarding the Canada Disability Benefit to ensure accessibility for individuals with cognitive impairment, including with Alzheimer's or other dementias. Create and fund programs to support Canadians diagnosed with young-onset dementia. Communications regarding medical assistance in dying with respect to advance requests, the state of palliative care, and the protection of Canadians with disabilities. Budget 2025 - as it relates to full and sustainable funding by the Government of Canada in: A Dementia Strategy for Canada: Together We Aspire Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) - as it relates to increased federal funding and long-term investment in dementia research exceeding 1% of direct dementia care costs (aspirational goal in national dementia strategy) Communications regarding the Canada Post strike and its adverse financial impacts (i.e. donations) on the charitable sector. Communications regarding potential funding to Alzheimer Society Research Program for research to study the topic of Veterans and Dementia in a truly Canadian context. Communications regarding the need for $20 million over 5 years through programs like Age Well at Home, and a longer-term and larger commitment to programs like ASC's FirstLink® that have been proven to support people with dementia to live well as long as possible at home and in the community. Communications regarding the need to invest $15 million over 3 years to implement national standards for diagnosis, treatment and care for Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. This will ensure that the health systems across the country have access to quality standards to be able to realize the benefits of any disease modifying drugs approved in Canada. Health Canada as it pertains to the approval of disease-modifying treatments for Alzheimer's disease and other dementias that aim to slow or halt the progression of the disease. National standards and Safe Long-term Care Act include a common standard for the definition of an Essential Care Partner (ECP). Improve access to palliative and end-of-life care for people living with dementia in Canada. Implementation metrics and success criteria for "A Dementia Strategy for Canada:Together We Aspire." Funding opportunities under PHAC's Dementia Community Investment and Dementia Strategic Fund to support awareness-raising, dementia guidelines, diversity & Inclusion and best practices.
