Impact of the mail stoppage to Canadian charities, during our most important quarter for fundraising to support programs and services and request to work to return mail delivery to Canadians so that they have the programs and resources they need. Seeking support from the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility regarding grants aligned to support youth improving their lung health through supporting healthy habits, including quitting smoking and vaping; and supporting seniors living with chronic lung conditions to become engaged in their communities and access/promote resources and programs to improve their lung health. Seeking recognition that vaping and nicotine use are key points of initiation for youth (not harm reduction) and the commitment to review the Tobacco and Vaping Products Act, specifically to include the integration of nicotine reduction targets (such as the federal 5% by 2035 goal) into all relevant national policies and mandates. Seeking the commission of a comprehensive report to define the scale and understand the impact of respiratory health issues using reliable data to identify urgent gaps, set clear national targets, and lay the foundation for tracking measurable progress towards improving respiratory health.
