Promote the benifits of choosing Canadian steel in government-sponsored infrastructure and construction programs, including homebuilding and Build Canada Homes. Procurement reforms to prioritize Canadian steel in federally funded projects. Proposals include “Buy Canadian” requirements, minimum domestic content standards, and mandatory disclosure of country of melt and pour. CISC is seeking trade enforcement measures to protect domestic industry. Priorities include combating steel dumping, aligning Canadian tariffs with U.S. measures, and closing circumvention loopholes.

Trade Policy -- Special Import Measures Act (SIMA) and Possible new policies or regulations, and international negotiations, affecting Canada's international trade regime and consequences for the steel industry.
