Temporary Visa and Entry Requirements for International Conference Participants: Advocacy regarding policies, procedures and administrative measures related to temporary visas and entry requirements for international participants attending scientific, medical and professional conferences in Canada. Bill S-228: An Act to amend the Criminal Code (sterilization procedures): Provide SOGC's perspective on Bill S-228, particularly as it relates to the impact of potential criminalization of procedures that are performed to save women’s lives and the potential impacts on access to reproductive health care for all Canadian women. Advocacy for the federal government to fulfil its 2025 election commitment to address the long-overlooked area of postpartum maternal health by funding research to identify care gaps, measure health outcomes and guide future investments. Advocacy for the government to fulfil its 2025 election commitment to create a national IVF program that would provide up to $20,000 toward one IVF cycle per patient. Universal coverage of contraceptives: Advocate for a full range of contraceptives to be included in the National Pharmacare Framework. Advocacy for universal, free coverage of a full range of contraceptives for all Canadian women, including urging the federal government to enter into funding agreements with all provinces and territories so all Canadian women can access free birth control, regardless of address. Women's health: Advocating for creation of a national approach to providing guidance to health providers that care for women coming to Canada from conflict zones. This would include tools to help providers treating women who may be experiencing the physical and emotional trauma of not only of the violence of the conflicts themselves, but also a lack of adequate health care in these areas. Womena's health data: Advocate for greater priority to be placed on realities faced by under-represented groups such as Black women, Indigenous People, newcomers to Canada and those experiencing homelessness and substance-use disorders who are disproportionally impacted by the women’s health gap. Youth mental health and addictions – community capacity and operating funding 360°kids will communicate with federal decision-makers regarding youth mental health and addictions priorities, with a focus on expanding access and community capacity. Will seek to help identify and shape upcoming federal youth mental health funding mechanisms (including how community-based organizations can access health-specific funding streams). Advocate for operating funding models that enable youth-serving organizations to deliver prevention, early intervention, and wraparound supports. Position 360°kids' integrated prevention and wraparound model as a value-for-money investment that reduces downstream costs in emergency care,policing, and social services. Ensure youth voice and equity perspectives are incorporated into youth mental health and addictions policy and funding approaches. Sector-specific youth pathways, train-the-trainer models, and employer partnerships. 360°kids will communicate with federal officials regarding funding streams and program models that strengthen youth workforce pathways and employer partnerships. Advocate for funding streams that invest in train-the-trainer programs and sector-specific youth pathways (including trades, technology,culinary, PSW/social work, environment). Promote models that link employment and skills development to mental health and housing stability supports for older youth with barriers and those underrepresented in the job market. Encourage stable, outcomes-based funding that supports onboarding and retention, particularly for equity-deserving youth. Modernize and recapitalize YESS into a year-round Youth Hiring Incentive (YHI). 360°kids will communicate with federal officials regarding modernization and recapitalization of the Youth Employmentand Skills Strategy (YESS), including changes to the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program. Advocate to expand short, time-limited placements into a year-round Youth Hiring Incentive for youth aged 18-29 who are not in full-time study. Support longer, more stable placements that reflect current labour-market realities and enable retention and progression. Structure delivery through multi-year contribution agreements with community partners and predictable incentives for employers, with enhanced supports/top-ups for barriered youth (e.g., homelessness, disability, newcomer and Indigenous youth). Integrate funded mental health, mentorship, and early intervention supports into YESS-funded placements. 360°kids will communicate with federal officials regarding the redesign and delivery of the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS), to ensure that funded mental health and wraparound supports are embedded alongside employment placements. Providing commentary and input with respect to Bill C-9, The Combatting Hate Act, including possible amendments that would strengthen the bill to ensure all equity deserving groups, including Black Canadians, are protected from hate speech. The purpose of this assignment is to brief decision makers on the Black Opportunity Fund, and its subsidiary BOF Capital Inc, on its programs and impacts with respect to Black-led Canadian businesses and entrepreneurs; programming that supports Black-led charities, non-profits and social enterprises; and housing policy solutions that would support Black Canadians to access affordable and attainable homeownership, as Canada takes steps to address the country’s housing affordability crisis.
