Encouraging the federal government to include a "freshwater" pillar in its Blue Economy strategy centred on the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River. Encouraging the federal government to become more actively involved and partner with municipal governments to protect the Great Lakes and St Lawernce region environment. Encourage the federal government to take measures to protect shoreline zones of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River Basin. Working with federal & provincial governments on develop new programming, policies, & regulations that affect local governments abilities to implement Climate Adaptation initiatives. Economic Transformation - Building upon federal initiatives and changing Canadian and American government policy work regarding A) Industry Transformation - Attracting Green & Blue industry to the Great Lakes/ St Lawrence region and helping existing business adapt. B) Waterfront Transformation - economic revitalization and equitable community access C) Energy Transformation - Implementing clean, renewable energy as economy & society transitions to non carbon based electric D) Transportation & Mobility Transformation - expanding sustainable, integrated (multi-mobile, active), water-based, mobility systems for goods and people (Short sea shipping & tourism)
