Réglementation et normes fédérales : Sensibiliser le gouvernement fédéral sur l'impact de sa réglementation et de ses normes sur les coûts de construction d'infrastructures publiques. Fonds pour la diversification des corridors commerciaux : Le FDCC a pour objectif de permettre la réalisation d’infrastructures de transport de marchandises nécessaires pour développer l’exportation des produits canadiens dans des marchés internationaux autres que les États-Unis. C’est un objectif qui est important pour nos communautés. Deux volets ne sont pas ouverts à tous et visent les principaux corridors commerciaux du pays. Nous souhaitons nous assurer que le partage de l’enveloppe budgétaire globale favorise l’ensemble des régions du Québec et que le Québec obtienne sa juste part des investissements prévus. Immigration et main-d'oeuvre : Représentations sur l’importance stratégique du Programme des travailleurs étrangers temporaires (PTET) pour soutenir la vitalité économique de toutes les régions du Québec et répondre aux besoins de main-d’œuvre dans plusieurs secteurs clés, qui portent sur l'adaptation des modalités du programme aux réalités québécoises et le maintien en poste des TET présents au Québec, et la nécessité d'une entente avec le gouvernement du Québec pour la mise en oeuvre d'une clause de droits acquis pour les personnes affectées par la fin du Programme de l'expérience québécoise. Représentations sur le financement des programmes d'emplois jeunesse dans les municipalités Les municipalités souhaitent le maintien et le renouvellement du Fonds pour bâtir des communautés sécuritaires (FBCS) qui soutient la réalisation d’actions visant à améliorer la sécurité urbaine. Postes Canada : représentations en lien avec le mouvement de grève du mois d'octobre 2025 dans un contexte d'élections municipales québécoises et en lien avec les annonces concernant la levée du moratoire et l'installation des boites communautaires Relations municipalités et Premières Nations : contacts et échanges sur les relations entre les municipalités et les communautés des Premières Nations en matière de réconciliation. Habitation et itinérance : Nous demandons de rehausser le financement de mesures structurantes en matière d’habitation et d’itinérance, notamment via la Stratégie nationale sur le logement et le programme Vers un chez soi de même que Maisons Canada. De plus, nous demandons au gouvernement du Canada et au gouvernement du Québec de s’entendre, dans les plus brefs délais, sur les modalités d’utilisation des sommes dédiées aux campements, en concertation avec le milieu municipal et les organismes communautaires. Les substances perfluoroalkyliques et polyfluoroalkyliques (PFAS) sont des polluants éternels qui se retrouvent dans l'eau potable et les eaux usées des municipalités. L'UMQ souhaite s'assurer que des actions soient mises en place afin de minimiser les impacts sur le milieu municipal (par ex. :coûts de traitement et pérennité des sources d'eau potable) Navigation de plaisance : Les enjeux liés à la navigation de plaisance et à l’accès aux plans d’eau au Québec sont préoccupants pour nos municipalités. Les municipalités souhaiteraient pouvoir bénéficier d’une certaine marge de manœuvre pour réglementer la navigation de plaisance sur leurs plans d’eau pour s’assurer de la qualité de vie de leurs citoyens. Transport collectif : Nous souhaitons que l'annonce du gouvernement fédéral concernant le Fonds canadien pour le transport en commun porte ses fruits et favorise le développement du transport en commun dans nos communautés. Nous souhaitons également que le versement des montants soit devancé afin de soutenir plus rapidement nos initiatives, car le financement du transport collectif doit être une priorité nationale. Caribous : Nous demandons au gouvernement du Canada de collaborer et s'entendre avec le gouvernement du Québec en ce qui a trait à la mise en place de mesures de protection des caribous forestiers et montagnards et de leur habit

Information sharing related to Canada’s defence policy and the opportunities for leveraging existing resourcing at UM. Advocacy for dual-use proposals. Information sharing related to opportunities for collaboration concerning development of Canada’s north, including the greater Churchill area. Advocacy for utilization of UM resources such as the Churchill Marine Observatory for Canada’s plans in Hudson’s Bay and the high arctic. Information sharing regarding UM’s research strengths and capacity to assist the Government of Canada. Information sharing on research and innovation opportunities/capacity including facilities and research focus areas. Information sharing and collaboration related to northern and arctic food security. Information sharing on UM’s research strengths in designing resilient all-weather roads and rail-line relocations that improve northern connectivity while minimizing impacts on local wildlife and traditional ways of life. Information sharing and advocacy for support regarding UM’s work with Indigenous communities to increase access and opportunities for Indigenous learners in Manitoba. Advocacy of proposals related to the Build Strong Communities Fund. Advocacy for federal, long-term solution to address challenges experienced by dental college and clinic since the onset of the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDPC). Advocacy for changes to immigration policy limiting the number of international students Canada accepts, and advocacy to address the consequences of Canada’s diminished international reputation. Advocacy and information sharing on opportunities for fostering a collaborative and impactful innovation ecosystem that supports researchers, the institutions they represent, and commercialization of ideas and property. Support, advocacy and information sharing related to the mandate of the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation’s ongoing activities. Accessing Government records and archives related to residential schools. Advocacy for support for annual events and programming.

Canada Water Agency; policies and funding to support start-ups and scale-ups in the water tech sector.

Discussions with government about federal climate and environmental policies, legislation and regulations, such as but not limited to the Emission Cap, the Clean Fuel Regulations, the Output Based Pricing System, the ZEV mandate and the Multi-Sector Air Pollutants Regulations. Discussions on sanctions related to jurisdictions in which Suncor operates or in relation to the loading and unloading of purchased goods. Discussions with government on the Impact Assessment process and impact assessments for energy projects. Discussions of impacts and barriers to the competitiveness of Canadian oil and gas industry, including market access issues such as tanker bans, pipelines as well as new green washing provisions included in the Competition Act. Discussions with government on policy and fiscal supports, and regulatory challenges related to decarbonization, including projects like Pathways. Discussion with government on Canada's biofuel security including incentives and refinery competitiveness. Discussion with the government on any proposed tax changes, specifically relating to the Income Tax Act and associated regulations. Discussions will include all forms of investment tax credit including Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) projects, hydrogen, as well as production tax credits for biofuels. Discussion with the federal government on First Nations and Indigenous consultation processes including provisions under the Indigenous Loan Guarantee program and the Environmental Justice Act. Discussions with government on issues and challenges to Suncor's operational continuity, including cybersecurity threats, work stoppages, and infrastructure challenges. Discussions with government on regulatory frameworks to enable successful closure & reclamation of oil sands mines, including regulations and practices that enable water release. Advocacy related to both export and import tariffs imposed on our industry both by the US and/ or the Canadian government as well as export bans, if applicable. Discussions with government on Fisheries Act in regard to the implementation of the Codes of Practice, related guidance's and enhanced coordination and alignment between the federal and provincial government. Advocate for timely, streamlined immigration approvals for workers supporting Suncor’s operations both in Canada and internationally.
