Lobbying relativement au droit d’auteur canadien afin de : - limiter l’exception relative à l’utilisation équitable dans un contexte d’éducation dans la loi canadienne sur le droit d'auteur, - s'assurer que l'intelligence artificielle (IA) se développe et se déploie de manière responsable et en garantissant le respect de la législation sur le droit d'auteur, - et veiller à ce que les programmes d'aide à l'accessibilité respectent les législations canadienne et internationale sur le droit d’auteur. Hausse du financement du Fonds du livre du Canada pour bonifier les programmes réguliers d’appui aux éditeurs et aux organismes et hausse du financement du Conseil des arts du Canada pour mieux soutenir l’édition littéraire canadienne.

Operating grant, contributions to projects in technology development, research, marketing, professional development Lobbying to amend the Copyright Modernization Act. Amend the section (old section 21) to limit fair dealing exemption for education. Increase funding to the Canada Book Fund and maintain all other programs that support writing and publishing in Canada.

The creation of an expert panel(s) of industry participants which would focus on identifying structural measures capable of achieving these objectives and suitable for implementation by the federal government in the short and medium term. Pursuing these objectives to complement the work of the national publishing associations to achieve their objectives of 1. increased funding for the Canada Book Fund and 2. government action to address the impact on publishers and authors of the Copyright Act’s inclusion of education under “fair dealing” provisions New initiatives to maintain and expand the publishing capacity of the Canadian-owned publishing sector in the succession of ownership and management of these firms. New initiatives targeting libraries, enabling those interested to double or triple their offering of Canadian books, especially local/regional books, to their patrons. Effective measures to stabilize and improve the viability of the retail bookstore sector (independent and chain) through increasing their stocking and sales of Canadian authored titles, especially those from the independent Canadian-owned publisher sector, together with other appropriate measures
