Regulations, policies and programs to support chain efficiency and resiliency in Canada. Discussing with government the Canadian Transportation Act with respect to potential changes that have a direct impact on rail/trucking transportation along with port activities. Discussing with government the Shipping Conference Exemption Act - in Budget 2023 released on March 28, 2023 the federal government committed to launching a review of SCEA to improve marine shipping competition. Discussing with government review of the Canadian Transportation Act and impact on both domestic and international trade. Discussing with government the Rail Passenger Priority Act - this enactment amends the Canada Transportation Act to require that railway companies give priority to passenger rail service over the movement of freight and to provide for administrative monetary penalties for contraventions of this requirement. Discussing with government the Ports Modernization Review - increased accountability of Canadian Port Authorities is required, including introducing potential regulations to challenge excessive fees, charges, common use of the facilities, and protect users from unfair competition by the port against its tenants. Discussing with government Bill C-49, Transportation Modernization Act with respect to potential changes that have a direct impact on rail/trucking transportation along with port activities.

Discussions with government officials regarding the national electricity strategy and the role of propane, renewable propane and rDME in Canada, including their potential as lower-emissions, efficient fuels, in relation to environmental, energy, industry, finance, agriculture and transportation policies. Reduction in interprovincial trade barriers: to remove barriers to labour mobility and provide a national regulatory approach for propane through streamlining/harmonizing existing prov/fed regulations while ensuring the continued safety and security of the industry. Propane exports: to promote and support existing and future opportunities to export Canadian propane to new and existing foreign markets like Japan and Korea. Discussions with government officials with respect to recognizing and promoting propane, renewable propane and rDME as a cleaner burning, efficient fuels in Canada, as it relates to the environment, energy, industry, finance, agriculture and transportation. Discussions with government officials as it pertains to the effect of possible rail strikes on the energy sector in Canada. Discussions with government officials as it pertains to the transportation of propane via rail, pipeline, trucking and perhaps marine. Also the transportation of propane across Canada/U.S Border. Discussions with government as it pertains to legislation in areas such as Finance, Indigenous, Transportation, Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment. Aboriginal Affairs with respect to the promotion of the use of propane as a clean burning efficient fuel in First Nations communities.

Water policy in terms of providing input on the impact of chemical manufacturing operations and the substances used/produced by the industry Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act: providing input related to the Transportation Code contained in the chemical industry's Responsible Care® Ethic and the safe management of chemicals in transport Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) Tax Credit: providing input on its applicability to research in the chemical industry Occupational Health and Safety Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) and Globally Harmonized System (GHS): input on the impact of the chemical industry within the context of the Responsible Care® Ethic Impact of Carbon Pricing or emission intensity criteria on industry. Environmental Policy: input on chemical manufacturing operations and the substances produced and used by the industry Energy Policy: greater federal/provincial alignment on energy policies and streamlined environmental assessments for energy projects. Concerns regarding climate change policies: impact of carbon pricing and emissions criteria on the industry. Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and Regulations: impact on assessments of projects in the chemical and plastic industries. Bill S-5 An Act to Amend the Canadian Environmental Protection Act 1999, to make related amendments to the Food and Drugs Act and to repeal the Perfluorooctane Sulfonate Virtual Elimination Act (CEPA Modernization). Key areas: changes to the assessment and management of Chemicals and Products; the Right to a Healthy Environment; the protection of Vulnerable Populations; the creation of a "Watch List" for chemical substances; and the protection of confidential business information. Amendments to the Canadian Environmental Protection Act to remove plastic manufactured items from the list of toxic substances in Schedule 1 – Bill C-380 International Trade Issues associated with cross border trade between Canada and the USA. This includes negotiations with the USA on the implementation of the Canada, US, Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) and other trade agreements including the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP). Discussions regarding the safe and reliable operation of Enbridge’s liquids pipelines, natural gas pipelines, and utilities and power assets. Discussions regarding projects, expansions, optimizations, and changes to tolling arrangements relating to Enbridge’s liquids pipelines, natural gas pipelines, and utilities and power assets. Discussions regarding policy developments on Indigenous engagement, consultation and economic inclusion. Discussions regarding market access for energy products, maintaining the integrated North American energy market, Canada-U.S. trade and cross-border issues and Canadian energy exports to other jurisdictions. Discussions regarding climate policies and initiatives, including the federal carbon charge, the Clean Fuel Standard, methane regulations, and the output-based pricing system, as well as policy supports for innovations that reduce greenhouse gas emissions (including Renewable Natural Gas, Compressed Natural Gas, CCUS, hydrogen and power-to-gas). Discussions regarding Canadian competitiveness, including on regulatory efficiency, as it pertains to environmental assessments and climate policies and taxation. Discussions and feedback regarding regulatory efficiency, including environmental assessments, the federal carbon charge, the Clean Fuel Standard, methane regulations, Clean Electricity Regulations, and the output-based pricing system.

Engagement with the government on encouraging Canadian green energy production and export such as Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and hydrogen as ammonia, and working to overcome barriers to market entry for Canada. Support increased funding to the National Trade Corridors Fund and encourage the federal government to prioritize infrastructure particularly related to energy diversification and/or projects that benefit Indigenous communities Raising awareness of Trigon's role in the West Coast economy, its contribution to Canada’s export goals and its importance as a source of employment and economic strength in the regional community, including with its Indigenous partners.
