Canadian Women & Sport is seeking policy and funding support for gender equity in sport across government departments. Canadian Women & Sport is advocating for the integration of gender equity considerations or standards into the funding framework(s) for funding envelopes controlled by Sport Canada. Canadian Women & Sport, on behalf of all National Sport Organizations, Multi-Sport Service Organizations and Canadian Sport Institutes, are seeking the continuation of targeted gender equity in sport funding to support the achievement of the federal government's stated goal of gender equality at all levels of sport by 2035.

Increase in investment for sport for all Canadians

CHG is engaging with the government of Canada to secure funding support to further expand and develop their technology and also expand their reach within the world of women’s sports with funding for their newly developed app that will aggregate data on women’s sports and provide greater visibility for women in sport within Canada providing job opportunities for women in technology.

Bill S-211, National Framework on Advertising for Sports Betting Act, with respect to gambling advertising regulation in Canada Meetings with federal government will discuss the enactment of legislation to protect Canadians from illegal operators ongoing operations of illegal gambling websites within Canada and to discuss the role of the provincial gaming authorities.

The Canadian Olympic Committee is advocating to strengthen and modernize the national sport system in support of Canadian athletes and to the benefit of communities across the country through more safe, positive, and accessible sporting programs and environments.

Work with the various government programs that support accessibility, inclusion, and a world without barriers, particularly in the built environment around an accessibility Certification Program which will assess and rate the built environment of Canada against a common standard (example Canadian Standards Association). Work with the Government of Canada to seek funding and support for RHF national initiatives designed to educate and engage Canadians about the importance of promoting accessibility, in coordination with National AccessAbility Week. Work with the Government of Canada to provide leadership in salmon and sturgeon conservation and related initiatives and research. Funding or support with respect to international development cooperation (student and academic mobility, internships, research collaboration, exchanges, technical assistance). Discussions regarding possible research and development initiatives for, and investments in, partnerships with the University of Calgary. Discussions concerning potential research and development initiatives and investments related to clean energy, environmental research and climate change policy. Discussions about policy implementation regarding the academic visa process in support of international faculty recruitment with respect to changes to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations. Budget bills in support of federal funding for post-secondary education, research, innovation, science and technology.
