Engagement on youth entrepreneurship support - We continue to engage with government stakeholders to enable Futurpreneur to continue to provide mentoring, financing and business services/support to young diverse entrepreneurs, including Indigenous entrepreneurs and OLMCs. Futurpreneur supports business creation in all regions, including working in rural communities and First Nations. This also includes growth initiatives for young entrepreneurs and their startup/SMEs, as well as international trade opportunities, such as the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Alliance.

Working with the Government of Canada regarding international trade, economic development and investment in West Africa, in countries where IAMGOLD has a presence. Engaging with the Government of Canada, including Global Affairs Canada, concerning third-party applications for development funding and the implementation of public-private development projects and partnerships in Burkina Faso. Discussions related to the various permits, approvals required for development of mining projects, national benefits sharing with Indigenous peoples and engagement and consultation with Indigenous peoples on major resource development projects.

The WGC is helping to lead a global initiative alongside the World Bank and others to help combat illicit gold flows and promote formalisation of the artisanal and small scale gold mining sector.
