We engage with various elected and staff officials in the federal government on issues relevant to urban life, including the governance and financing of municipal governments. and specific federal funding and policies that affect urban life, including housing, mental health, economic development, small businesses, land use, infrastructure, urban planning and design, heritage, support for tourism and culture, immigration, skills development and employment, climate, and equity, the health of neighborhoods and downtowns as places. This has been particularly true during COVID.

Request a budgetary increase to Canadian Heritage's Canada Cultural Investment Fund - Endowment Incentives Component by an additional $20 million annually. Participate in collective advocacy efforts to request an annual budgetary increase to the Canada Arts Training Fund (CATF) Explore funding avenues for cultural infrastructure funding to revitalize the Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity campus and performance facilities.

Provide support to Harbourfront Centre and work with government officials to secure operational, capital and project funding Communicate with government officials on an ongoing basis regarding Harbourfront Centre operations and programming

Arts funding including funds to keep the organization viable, to fund new revenue streams (tax credits for live performance industry) and tourism recovery/growth efforts; increased funding for the Canada Council for the Arts. Source of the funding may include: Heritage, Tourism, Economic Development, CRA/Revenue.
