Educating on carbon capture technology, specifically direct air capture and carbon storage, to inform of emerging carbon removal technologies and the opportunity it presents for Canada. Provide views for a policy decision by Finance Canada to allow access to the federal investment tax credit fro carbon capture, utilization and storage projects in Quebec. Provide Finance Canada insights on opportunity to issue a directive to allow access to flow-through share programs for carbon capture and storage projects; including, but not limited to, direct air capture, ocean capture, in situ injection, and mineralization.

Advocate for adjustments to the Clean Fuels Regulations to support the advancement of multiple methanol products with different carbon intensities for domestic and international markets. Support setting of default emissions factor for Carbon Capture Utilization and Sequestration (CCUS) and concept of negative carbon intensity (CI) with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Net Zero Framework. Chemicals Management Plan risk assessment and proposed risk management of methanol. Input regarding Carbon capture, utilization and Storage (CCUS) incentives, including the CCUS Investment Tax Credit.
