That support and promotion for the Council of Ministers and Deputy Ministers Responsible for Transportation and Highway Safety and associated committees, the Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators, the Task Force on Vehicle Weights and Dimensions and the Transportation Association of Canada continue. It is critical industry and government have established forums to discuss, develop and coordinate on issues of importance the trucking industry. Funding for Federal, Territorial and Provincial Relations to support oversight of trucking industry and support for infrastructure priorities. National Highway System. Support for improvements, upgrades and capital expenditures on the national highways system to support inter-provincial truck transportation. Commercial Vehicle Enforcement – that joint commitments amongst federal government, proveniences and territories to address commercial vehicle safety remain in place and are properly supported and co-ordinated and that information sharing amongst jurisdictions Prevention of fraudulent activities as it relates to commercial trucking. Ensure financial crimes and fraud being committed as a result of labour mis-classification and forced labour are eliminate from the trucking industry. Prevention of Human Trafficking and Forced Labour – ensure forced labour is eliminated from the trucking industry, support all law enforcement programs dedicated to this file and hold non-compliant operations accountable. Regulatory Harmonization – ensure that regulatory harmonization and alignment are the focal points for governments with respect to trucking. That jurisdictions commit to implementing changes in a timely manner and that when necessary that the federal government support jurisdictions in implementing the changes. That mutual recognition is not a suitable mechanism for reducing inter-provincial trade barriers in trucking. Transportation and Supply Chain Security and Integrity. Ensure a focus remains on eliminating the influence of Transnational Criminal Organizations from trucking, establish known employer programs in trucking as well as an expansion of trusted trader networks. Commercial Vehicle Enforcement – ensuring all lawful authorities are engaged in activities with respect to commercial vehicle enforcement to detect and deter criminal activity and hold non-compliant operations accountable. Data Collection, Research and Development – as required provide information and insight to officials to ensure accurate and realistic information on the industry trends, and metrics. Commercial Driver Medical Standards – that standards are consistent between provincial and territorial jurisdictions and that to the extent possible they are aligned with those required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Vehicle Weights and Dimensions – ensure existing mechanisms in place for discussions, collaborations, progression, standards maintenance and development on vehicle weights and dimensions policy remain in place. National Safety Code Standards – that proper attention and maintenance is given to national safety code standards and that jurisdictions are adhering to and implementing the standards consistently. Commercial Vehicle Enforcement – ensure Transport Canada, the provinces and territories maintain adequate oversight of the trucking industry and that Transport Canada remain engaged in supporting commercial vehicle oversight across all jurisdictions. Engaging with the Government of Canada regarding programs, grants, and other funding opportunities relating to EVs, EV infrastructure, and EV technology. Engaging with the federal government on policy issues including federal budgets, taxation, tax incentives for biofuels, low-carbon fuel production, environment, infrastructure, foreign investment, natural resources, international trade, helping support Canadian energy exports to get to global markets, and pandemic response. Discussing federal/provincial energy policy with respect to issues of supply and access, as well as innovation, policies and programs on the use of low-carbon fuels and increase production and use of biofuels. Supporting policy development and deployment of electric vehicle infrastructure in Canada, including mandates, incentives, and standards development. Details of Parkland's EV charging network and how Parks Canada can partner with Parkland to provide EV charging to park lands. Communicating with the Government of Canada on criteria and opportunities under the Strategic Innovation Fund(SIF) and low-carbon fuels more broadly. Parkland may apply, from time to time, to opportunities and funding calls related but not limited to opportunities that enhance our service offerings such as electric vehicle charging infrastructure programs and clean fuel fund requests for proposals issued by Natural Resources Canada.

Discussions with government about federal climate and environmental policies, legislation and regulations, such as but not limited to the Emission Cap, the Clean Fuel Regulations, the Output Based Pricing System, the ZEV mandate and the Multi-Sector Air Pollutants Regulations. Discussions on sanctions related to jurisdictions in which Suncor operates or in relation to the loading and unloading of purchased goods. Discussions with government on the Impact Assessment process and impact assessments for energy projects. Discussions of impacts and barriers to the competitiveness of Canadian oil and gas industry, including market access issues such as tanker bans, pipelines as well as new green washing provisions included in the Competition Act. Discussions with government on policy and fiscal supports, and regulatory challenges related to decarbonization, including projects like Pathways. Discussion with government on Canada's biofuel security including incentives and refinery competitiveness. Discussion with the government on any proposed tax changes, specifically relating to the Income Tax Act and associated regulations. Discussions will include all forms of investment tax credit including Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) projects, hydrogen, as well as production tax credits for biofuels. Discussion with the federal government on First Nations and Indigenous consultation processes including provisions under the Indigenous Loan Guarantee program and the Environmental Justice Act. Discussions with government on issues and challenges to Suncor's operational continuity, including cybersecurity threats, work stoppages, and infrastructure challenges. Discussions with government on regulatory frameworks to enable successful closure & reclamation of oil sands mines, including regulations and practices that enable water release. Advocacy related to both export and import tariffs imposed on our industry both by the US and/ or the Canadian government as well as export bans, if applicable. Discussions with government on Fisheries Act in regard to the implementation of the Codes of Practice, related guidance's and enhanced coordination and alignment between the federal and provincial government. Advocate for timely, streamlined immigration approvals for workers supporting Suncor’s operations both in Canada and internationally.
