Discussion with the government on any proposed tax changes, specifically relating to the Income Tax Act and associated regulations. Discussions will include the proposed investment tax credit for Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) projects. General discussion on government's commitment to emissions reductions and related programs that may develop, whether financial or non-financial. General discussion on government's energy priorities, infrastructure investment (new projects or existing projects) and technology development focused on carbon management. Consultation on Federal/Provincial greenhouse gas emissions reductions policies. Areas of focus will include cost of carbon (including the Clean Fuel Regulation and Output-Based Pricing System), provincial equivalency, credit generation and compliance mechanisms.
