Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF) – Pratt & Whitney Canada next-generation thermal engine. SIF Stream 1 R&D and Commercialization is being sought to support engine E&D. This project aims to develop more efficient and sustainable engines to help the aerospace sector towards net zero objective. Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF) - Pratt & Whitney Canada is one of the largest investors in R&D in Canada in the Aerospace Industry, and as such qualifies for investment by the Government of Canada through SIF. P&WC is constantly working on sustainable aviation technologies and progressing its mandate to fly a hybrid-electric 40-seater aircraft demonstrator x plane within 3 years. This will help prepare the Canadian aerospace sector for a huge hybrid aircraft market expected to emerge later this decade. Revenue Canada SR&ED- Scientific Research & Experimental Development Program Pratt & Whitney Canada conducts significant R&D activities in Canada on airplane engines and production and testing. It also qualifies for reimbursement under the SR&ED program. NRC - Pratt & Whitney Canada has over twelve ongoing research activities with NRC.
