Communications with Federal Government officials regarding the elimination of child labour in Canada's supply chains. UNICEF Canada seeks and obtains contributions from Global Affairs Canada for international assistance programming. Communications with Government Officials to build support for increased Canadian investment and leadership in regards to children's health, nutrition, education, protection and participation, including the most vulnerable children such as those facing gender-based discrimination, conflict, and displacement. Obtain contributions for the delivery of medical humanitarian assistance in specific geographies Engage in dialogue on issues related to biomedical research and development to ensure that Canadian policies and programs are targeted at initiatives that serve the needs of patients in developing countries. Engage in dialogue and advocacy related to the removal of regulatory barriers preventing humanitarian assistance, particularly barriers associated with the Criminal Code and sanctions regimes. Discussing ongoing operational issues in relation to the delivery of humanitarian aid in specific geographies.

Official Development Assistance – via Global Affairs Canada, specifically assistance provided through the Maternal Newborn Child Health (MNCH) and nutrition envelope. Encouraging the creation of new policies and shaping existing practices linked to global health so that Global Affairs Canada efforts in this area take nutrition into account, with the objective of ensuring maximum impact and results for the world’s most vulnerable, especially women and children in developing countries.

Focus on girls' rights and youth leadership in Canada focused on addressing systemic barriers to gender equality in leadership in Canada and globally. Plan International Canada advocates for gender equality and children's rights. Our policy and advocacy spans a number of sectors, including, health, education, child protection, climate change, economic security, water and sanitation, emergencies and child participation.

Increases to the International Assistance Envelope Allocations of the International Assistance Envelope Advocating spending priorities related to the dissemination of Canada's Official Development Assistance envelope to ensure that aid is targetted at initiatives that serve the world's poorest. Advocating for increased investment toward tuberculosis elimination, specifically through the creation of a national tuberculosis elimination strategy.

Support science and research to inform the conservation of migratory birds and their habitats. Support for a national migratory bird science and conservation interpretation centre. Policies and programs that support the implementation of the Migratory Birds Convention Act and the Species at Risk Act. Invest in Latin American and the Caribbean to support programs that conserve habitat for migratory birds. Advocate for the use and advancement of conservation technologies for wildlife surveying and tracking including the data platforms and standards that support integration with policies and programs. Advocate for the reduction of threats to migratory birds particularly stemming the loss of native grasslands, addressing the drivers of insect declines, curbing coastal and marine threats to birds and their habitat, and safeguarding birds of cultural significance. Advance policies and programs to modernize and enhance the monitoring and assessment of migratory birds. Advance policies, programs, and regulations that protect and restore important habitat for migratory birds.

Official Development Accountability (ODA) Act: advocate and advise on the implementation of this act; Feminist International Assistance Policy Financial Support from Global Affairs Canada to the Canadian Network for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (CAN-MNCH) through a Government of Canada Contribution Agreement Engaging with the Government of Canada to continue to invest in programs and policies that advance the health and rights of women, adolescent and children, in all over their diversity, around the globe.
