Discussions regarding digital policy and legislation, including as it relates to artificial intelligence (AI) and data protection, privacy and reduction of online harms. AI adoption including updating procurement policies. Discuss issues related to international competitiveness of the domestic AI industry. Provide subject matter (AI) expertise to the Canadian AI Safety Institute team where it might be helpful across a number of areas including opportunities for research and safety practices. Discussions with officials regarding the Canada-US bilateral relationship.

Bill C-27: An Act to enact the Consumer Privacy Protection Act, the Personal Information and Data Protection Tribunal Act and the Artificial Intelligence and Data Act and to make consequential and related amendments to other Acts, with respect to the AI provisions.

Improve awareness of HIVE Digital Technologies' operations among key government stakeholders, and advocate for federal policies that improve HIVE Digital Technologies' competitiveness on the national stage, including assessing whether HIVE is eligible for funding under data centre and AI programs.

To communicate with office holders to discuss and seek changes to federal procurement policies and processes for enterprise software solutions, including how such solutions are evaluated and acquired. The goal is to ensure procurement frameworks better support federal modernization priorities in the areas of workforce management, organizational design, lease management, asset management, digital modernization, artificial intelligence, data governance, and operational efficiency.
