Discussions with Members of Parliament and/or the Senate of Canada and their staff on the potential environmental and economic development benefits of permanent carbon removal. Discussions with the Treasury Board Secretariat and Department of National Defense on enhancing and expanding government procurement of carbon dioxide removal services. Discussions with the Prime Minister’s Office, Privy Council Office, and Environment & Climate Change Canada on clarifying Canada’s position on the use of credits for carbon dioxide removal in Canada and internationally. Discussions with the Ministry of Finance and Minister of Natural Resources on targeted changes to the Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) Investment Tax Credit (ITC) to support investment in carbon removal technologies. Discussions with the Minister of Natural Resources on dedicated funding streams for carbon dioxide removal projects within the Energy Innovation Program.

Discussions with the Treasury Board Secretariat and Department of National Defense and other implicated departments on government procurement of carbon dioxide removal services. Discussions on how carbon dioxide removal can contribute to Canada's climate change objectives and potential trade and export diversification opportunities associated with carbon dioxide removal. Discussions on enabling conditions to incentivize investment and support the growth of Canada's carbon dioxide removal industry, including through clear and predictable federal tax incentives, programs, policies and regulations. Discussions on Canada's emerging carbon dioxide removal industry and the potential environmental and economic development benefits of durable carbon dioxide removal.

Communications about the federal investment tax credits under the Income Tax Act for carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) projects and initiatives (CCUS ITC). Advocate for competitive policies and programs that incentivize carbon dioxide removal (CDR) in general, and direct air capture (DAC) specifically in Canada. Communicate with government officials about funding for Carbon Dioxide Removal technologies (CDR) and in particular Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology through existing and emerging funding programs and mechanisms, including through CCUS (carbon capture utilization and storage) programs and initiatives.
