Matters regarding the regulation of environmental labelling, recycled content and single-use plastics; discussion about the collection and recycling of beverage containers. Improving regulatory interpretation (guidance) development to enhance regulatory transparency and outcomes Food and Drug Regulations as it pertains to food ingredients, food additives, food labelling, food advertising and food safety. Beverage container recycling programs, recycling targets for beverage containers, a federal plastics registry, national standards for extended producer responsibility reporting, environmental labelling, recycled content requirements, microplastics, single-use plastics, and international plastics policy and agreements.
Provide support to the CBA who works on behalf of its members in collaboration with key stakeholders to strengthen, protect and promote a competitive business environment that inspires responsible and sustainable innovation and growth while contributing to a strong Canadian economy. Our work also supplements the CBA, who is committed to supporting the leadership of non-alcoholic beverage producers in driving Canadas beverage container circular economy, meeting regulatory obligations through proactive stakeholder education and policy development.

Request the Federal Government to support the wine industry in regards to the request by the Government of Australia to establish a WTO dispute settlement panel on a number of measures governing the sale of wine in Canada, including the federal excise exemption for 100% Canadian wine. Recommend to the Federal Government to facilitate the interprovincial commerce (on alcohol) in regards to Provincial barriers and limitations. Recommend to the federal government that U.S. excise taxes on Canadian wine should not be increased and if possible be lowered under a renegotiated NAFTA. Recommend to the federal government that the Canadian wine industry continue to have existing protections and expanded access to the U.S. market under a renegotiated NAFTA. Communicate with senior federal officials to monitor the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA/USMCA) negotiations and implementation as they pertain to the wine industry in Canada.
