Advocate for the creation of new programs and economic institutions to expedite greenhouse gas reductions, such as new climate-oriented crown corporations, a Youth Climate Corps and a new federal just transition transfer program. Advocate for regulations to expedite greenhouse gas reductions, such as a zero-emission vehicle mandate and zero-emission building mandate. Advocate for new communications programs to increase climate awareness and the need for ambitious action, such as a climate emergency funding stream for the Canada Council for the Arts, a new Climate Emergency Information Board, and the banning of fossil fuel advertising (Bill C-372). Engagement on youth entrepreneurship support - We continue to engage with government stakeholders to enable Futurpreneur to continue to provide mentoring, financing and business services/support to young diverse entrepreneurs, including Indigenous entrepreneurs and OLMCs. Futurpreneur supports business creation in all regions, including working in rural communities and First Nations. This also includes growth initiatives for young entrepreneurs and their startup/SMEs, as well as international trade opportunities, such as the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Alliance.

Climate Adaptation: Implementation of the National Adaptation Strategy, advancing flood and earthquake resiliency, including the development of a national high-risk flood insurance program and a federal earthquake backstop, flood mapping, weather harden houses/changes in building codes as well as call for more public education programs on flood, wildfire, earthquakes, and other climate risks and climate-resilient approaches to planning and building. Taxation: Impacts of tax rules and regulations on Canadian insurers Infrastructure Investing: Engaging with government on regulatory and prudential considerations affecting investment in climate resilience and infrastructure, including regulations related to capital requirements. Co-op Sector: Commit resources to build capacity in the co-op sector and promote co-operatives as a sustainable and well understood business model that can have significant impact on the economy. Resilient and Low-Carbon Economy: Call upon the Government to create a framework to catalyze the deployment of private capital for climate-related capacity building and supporting a stable and reliable sustainable finance market. Auto theft: Advocate for implementation of the national auto theft strategy, led by the federal government, in co-ordination with provinces and territories; empower and invest in the Canada Border Services Agency; break down informational silos through expanded sharing of intelligence and customs information; harmonize Canadian vehicle export policy with international best practices; and modernize the country’s outdated anti-theft vehicle standards.

Climate change adaptation: Working with Federal government and other partners on climate adaptation policies, and specifically to define and build a marketplace for partnerships and private investment in infrastructure projects that support community resiliency to climate change risks.

Discussions with officials with regards to advancing youth homelessness prevention projects with the Government of Canada through funding programs such as Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS). Working with all orders of government, communities, services providers and philanthropy to create a policy, investment and service environment that enables a shift away from simply “managing” the problem of youth homelessness through emergency services to a more proactive, rights-based approach that focuses on prevention and helping those who are homeless move into housing with supports as rapidly as possible in a safe and planned way.

Canada Health Act - enforcing against Ontario and other provinces that do not fully fund abortions outside hospitals, and ensuring equitable access to abortion in every region of Canada. Policies or Program: Stopping federal government funding of anti-choice groups, including through job programs and their charitable tax status. Lobbying against any private member bill or motion that could impact reproductive rights or access. Access to abortion services, with respect to improving them and removing political and other barriers, especially in undeserved areas.
