Bill C-34 - Safe Social Media Act The Digital Safety Act and the Digital Safety Commission of Canada Act, establishing sweeping corporate accountability frameworks, minimum age protections, and regulatory enforcement thresholds for digital service providers, including provisions related to: - The under-16 social media account ban and mandatory age-verification infrastructure. - Corporate duties to protect children through safety-by-design engineering and risk mitigation - Takedown protocols and algorithmic suppression of seven legally defined categories of harmful content (e.g., cyberbullying, non-consensual deepfakes, and self-harm materials) - Operational safety and behaviour standards for natural-language AI relationship chatbots - A statutory corporate due diligence defense for proactive technical compliance programs - The independent Digital Safety Commission of Canada to lead platform audits and investigate public complaints - Administrative monetary penalty structures enforcing corporate fines up to $10 million or 3% of global revenue while explicitly barring personal imprisonment Anti-Hate and Anti-Racism Advancing policies, programs, and legislative measures that prevent and address hate, racism, and discrimination in Canada. Tobacco and Vaping Products Act with regards to the classification of tobacco and vaping products, product regulation, packaging and labeling Schedule 1 of the Excise Act 2001 (Sections 42, 43.1 and 58.2, subsections 216(2) and (3), and section 240) under the Rate of Duty on Tobacco Products Excise Act, 2001 -with regard to tobacco and vaping duties, stamps or collection. Customs Act/Customs Tariff - with regard to customs duties on tobacco and vaping products. Any new legislative or regulatory proposals or policies relating to tobacco and/or vaping including taxation, product regulation, flavouring, packaging and labeling requirements and contraband.
