To engage and advocate for the economic and social benefits of mining to the Canadian economy, including Indigenous economic reconciliation, with investment-friendly policies regarding regulatory system, support for decarbonization, skills training and critical mineral development.

Policies, regulations and programs regarding zero emissions vehicles and the use of hydrogen in transportation applications, the supply of hydrogen and equipment for hydrogen fueling stations, including technology relating to compression, storage and dispensing. Engaging government regarding support for clean hydrogen production and emissions reductions, including the proposed Clean Hydrogen Investment Tax Credit and the Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage Investment Tax Credit.

Seeking potential funding or partnership with ESDC's Senior's Directorate to enhance the resources CAA makes available to Canadian drivers as they age. Engage government on climate change as it relates to the impacts on Canadian vehicle owners. CAA regularly communicates with Natural Resources Canada's Alternative Fuels Directorate in relation to federal funding to build awareness of zero-emission vehicles and other efforts that aim to reduce GHGs from light duty vehicles. CAA is seeking Health Canada funding support for national advocacy activities that raise public awareness about the dangers of cannabis-impaired driving. CAA is engaging the federal government on issues related the growing problem of automobile theft. CAA is engaged in discussions in support of increased funding for and activities related to public awareness and research around the dangers of drug-impaired driving as well as more resources for law enforcement and the need for enforcement data. CAA is engaged in consumer advocacy work related to Canadian air travellers and Canada's air passenger rights regime. CAA engages in discussions in support of the protection of the consumer interest (privacy, competitive choice) with respect to connected vehicles in the auto industry. CAA advocates for better and safer active transportation infrastructure. It seeks federal encouragement of and funding for active transportation infrastructure projects (e.g. bike lanes, pedestrian paths) via explicit set aside funds exclusive to active transportation projects. Advocate Transport Canada in regard to national road safety issues and related policy, programming and regulations, including seeking grant support from the Enhanced Road Safety Transfer Payment Program for public awareness activities.

Carbon Removal Canada seeks to ensure that demonstration funding programs are open to permanent carbon removal technologies, helping more projects bridge the gap between pilot and commercial scale, while securing new funding streams for demonstration projects. Carbon Removal Canada advocates for policies and programs that ensure the Canadian carbon removal compliance markets maintain their scientific integrity. This may include measurement, reporting, and verification requirements, or industry best practices. Carbon Removal Canada advocates to develop a permanent carbon removal procurement program that enables the Government of Canada to catalyze the growth of Canadian carbon removal technologies, while meaningfully dealing with its own emissions, such as the Canadian military, without impacting necessary operational flexibility. Carbon Removal Canada seeks to provide advice to the Government of Canada on achieving a balance on ocean carbon removal technologies; ensuring that the integrity of the ocean is maintained, while also creating business certainty. Carbon Removal Canada advocates for the recognition of permanent carbon removal as critical to Canada's economic and environmental future. Carbon Removal Canada advocates for programs and policies that make Canada more competitive in attracting investment for carbon removal technologies and companies. This includes tax credits and regulatory structures that ensure Canada has a high-level of business certainty and active business environment.

Sustainable Resource Development: Seek to ensure that any legislative initiatives affecting Critical Mineral resource development are grounded in the principles of sound science/evidence-based decision-making, efficiency of regulatory process and posit a meaningful role for Indigenous rights-holders and communities. Lobbying with government to facilitate and support the Company's efforts to secure a federal grant, contribution, or other financial benefit from the Government of Canada via departmental programs (e.g. NRCan, ISED), from Crown Corporations (e.g. EDC), and/or Arms-length independent bodies (e.g. Canada Growth Fund) and/or from other agencies, departments, and crown entities not yet identified, to support the establishment of a Heavy and Light Rare Earth Element hub for Canada anchored by the Company's proposed mine and refinery in Quebec province and ancillary assets in Labrador. Lobbying to ensure that proposed Investment Tax Credits pertinent to the Critical Minerals sector are effective and impactful. Lobbying related to the significant contribution which development of Canada's Light and Heavy Rare Earth Elements can make to the strategic security and defence partnership between Canada and the United States of America. Lobbying related to the scope of any federal Impact Assessment on the Company's Strange Lake Rare Earths hub project in Quebec and Labrador, including discussion related to the question of provincial and Indigenous Rights-holders' Impact Assessment equivalency, standards, and programs. Lobbying related to the development and implementation of The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act, as it relates to resource development, in support of fair and effective policy design. Lobbying on emerging policies and programs pertaining to Critical Minerals development and the establishment of robust North American supply chains to support a domestic advanced battery ecosystem, drive decarbonization of Canada’s economy and energy systems, and become a trusted and secure source of Critical Minerals to bolster Canada’s strategic position with the United States, with the European Union and with allied nations in Asia and the Indo-Pacific region. Potential support from Canada Growth Fund (CGF), Critical Minerals Infrastructure Fund (CMIF), Strategic Investment Fund (SIF) or other suitable Canada / Quebec sources of government support. Project aligns closely with innovation, economic development, investment goals. Communicating our project’s alignment with Canadian & Quebec Critical Minerals strategies. Promoting awareness and seeking non-specific government guidance or support for various aspects like permitting, indigenous support, preferred location(s) for processing facility.
