Discussions with officials on changes to Canada's “Best Before Date" food packaging labelling regime. Discussions with officials on food loss and waste reduction policies including measurement and monitoring of food loss and waste and fresh fruit and vegetable grading. Discussions on potential government investment in the expansion of Second Harvest's food processing capabilities, including through FedDev Ontario, the Strategic Response Fund, or the proposed Food-Link fund. Discussions with government officials on funding for Second Harvest's food waste reduction and/or surplus food rescue initiatives including through the Local Food Infrastructure Fund and the School Food Infrastructure Fund. Discussions with officials on the inclusion of food waste reduction and surplus food rescue initiatives in the proposed National Food Security Strategy.
