Meridian Credit Union wishes to work with the government on economic growth focused on helping small- and medium-sized businesses, creating good-paying jobs; growing workers’ capacity to earn and save more of their money; or growing the number of workers’ who can build homes and the number of families who can realize the dream of home ownership, and capital modernization to future-proof the credit union sector.

REFRAME Meridian Credit Union has a flagship social impact initiative (launched in 2024) called REFRAME that aims to address Ontario’s skilled trades shortage, the housing affordability crisis, and economic barriers faced by equity?deserving communities. We support social enterprises with proven training models and combine financial confidence coaching, financial solutions, and wraparound services to drive individual, community, and economic impact - through job creation, sustainable living, and housing solutions. We partner with leading social enterprises like Building Up (Toronto) and Community Builders (Barrie). Lobbying efforts aim at expanding this program through funding support.
