Tourism and cultural events: advancing Toronto and Ontario as destinations for international business, innovation, and cultural exchange through the delivery of large-scale technology events and festivals. Lobbying activities relate to government support for events that drive visitor attraction, hotel stays, local spending, and global visibility, while strengthening the province’s reputation as a hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and creative industries. Public funding and policy support enable the production of festivals and convenings that generate economic impact, support local suppliers and venues, and contribute to year-round tourism activity. Economic development: supporting the growth of the regional innovation ecosystem through programs, events and dialogue. These also include connecting partners in the development of stronger economic ecosystems, building talent to support the tech and digital economies and festivals bringing together people for the exchange of ideas. Grant funding will be used to support programs that support talent development, events to support the growth of the innovation ecosystem through business networking and training, and the systems to support these initiatives
